Japanese cheesecake with 2 ingredients
I saw this two-ingredient Japanese cheesecake go viral on social media in recent weeks. It almost seems too good to be true – that you can combine just two ingredients, refrigerate them and create a replica of a rich, delicious dessert that can sometimes be tricky to prepare.
So in the name of research, I fell victim to the trend and just had to give it a try.
I went for the only Biscoff cookies my local store had in stock, which happened to be an XL variety! It worked great though, I only had to put or break my cookies into the yogurt horizontally instead of vertically straight into the yogurt like I’ve seen in countless Tiktoks!

For yoghurt, I went for a rich, creamy Greek yoghurt, mainly because it came with a sealable lid, rather than one that I had to peel off and then sit in the fridge with the dessert open or struggle with cling film to cover the yoghurt again.
Feel free to swap the cookies for a cookie that you like or that you can easily get your hands on. I’ve seen versions with chocolate chip cookies, oreos, and even cookies that mix coffee into the yogurt and swap the cookies for ladyfingers, creating a Tiramisu cheesecake dessert.

Another option is to mix chopped chocolate or berries into the no-bake cheesecake for a chocolate or berry-packed treat.
You can use as little or as much of each ingredient as you like. If you’re making this for one person, a small container of yogurt and a few cookies will do the trick. If you are making this for the whole family, a large container of yogurt and as many cookies as it takes to fill the container is all you need!
So – to answer the question you’ve been wondering – yes, it surprisingly tastes like a cheesecake dessert. The cookies will soften and when you mix them with the yogurt, you’ll feel like you’re enjoying a rich, decadent cheesecake!
