10 motorcycles that keep their value surprisingly good

The engine industry in general is currently in something of a malaise. New motorcycle sales are bad in one word, which have had a very real effect on the used motorcycle prices. Nowadays there are dozens of bargains that are available, with a few high-end bicycles that lose almost half of their value of the night.

On the other side of the spectrum we have some bikes that you would not necessarily expect to hold their value, but somehow they do that. The 10 bicycles in question are not necessarily “investment options”, but they have somehow escaped the anger of a market that generally does not show grace. If you have bought one of these bikes in recent years, we can imagine that you are laughing now.

Harley-Davidson V-ROD muscle 2017

Price range: $ 9,000 – $ 11,000

As a rule, most Harley-Davidsons have their value, at least this was the case until recently. In the past year we have seen some models write off like never before, but somehow a bike that has never collected much love has its value on showroom floors. The V-ROD almost divided the opinion during its production life, but now, almost a decade after it went out of production, it has become one of the more desired models.

2018 Suzuki DR-Z400SM

Price range: $ 4,000 – $ 6,000

For the most part, supermotos do not hold their value. They are nice bikes and do not really claim anything other than that, and do not necessarily serve a practical purpose. But the Suzuki DR-Z400SM has a huge following. It is a proven platform, makes a good electricity and remains reliable. If you are long enough to deal with the seat height, this ensures a fantastic ‘urban attack vehicle’.

High-end Superbikes have traditionally not been supposed to hold their value, nor are there are not Italian motorcycles. This is somehow both, but is retained a relatively high resale value. Although not without error, the V4 has proved remarkably reliable compared to one of the previous powerful “L-twins” and it is still quite up-to-date. Ducati will say that the new bicycle is 100 percent new, but it has been a process of evolution instead of revolution, and a high-level driver is needed to get the latest bike faster than this 2019 model.

Price range: $ 15,000 – $ 17,000

To the great disappointment of different Yamaha fans, various bicycles were stopped in a short time, thanks to stricter emission standards. The VMAX was one of those emission -related companions, and although it is gone, it certainly did not forget. It still has a large following and, in terms of performance, is certainly not a bit dated.

Of all the bikes that Yamaha stopped, this must be the most controversial. The other three Japanese manufacturers have retained their super sport, but Yamaha has made the daring decision to blow a new path. While the R9 is a competent modern super short, most fans still miss the R6. The fact that the prices used are still hanging around what they sold in 2020 should only underline how much it is missed.

Reliability (or the lack thereof) was often the biggest contributing factor why Italian bicycles were traditionally written off. The previous generation V2 was very much a proven platform, which was refined in previous generations (899 and 959), and much of what the brand had plagued in the past in the past was no longer a problem by 2020. This version of the V2 remains the most powerful, and although it is 5 years old, it is still a thorough modern motorcycle.

Price range: $ 16,000 – $ 18,000

The R1, as we know it today, first broke the coverage completely back in 2015. By 2020 it received a pretty important update, a few nice-te had electronic functions (as well as some new bodywork), and the CP4 turned out to be a shadow of a doubt that a high-performance engine, in fact, could be reliable. At the time it was not universally appreciated, but today this old superbike is an icon of the industry.

Price range: $ 8,000 – $ 10,000

Indian has carved a decent piece of the Cruiser market, largely thanks to the bobber. It may not have the squeaky-in-preliminary reliability record of the metric bicycles, but thanks to the authentic American roots and that impressive V-twin it has built up a pretty large supporter. In the past 4 years, the prices used have remained surprisingly high, especially when you compare them with Harley’s liquid -cooled bicycles, which are now essentially in free autumn.

Price range: $ 17,000 – $ 19,000

Although it is certainly not surprising that one of the most popular motorcycles in the industry has its value, it is surprising how a high-end adventure bike if it is still not affected. Almost every other high-end advance of any other brand-even the Japanese brands is this year heavily affected by depreciation, but the GSA remains its own somehow.

2022 Harley-Davidson Street Glide

Price range: $ 16,000 – $ 18,000

Of all the luxury motorcycle brands, Harley-Davidson is certainly the most difficult hit by depreciation this year. For years, Harleys has kept their value better than just about other bikes on the market, all of which enjoy healthy resale values, but that no longer seems to be the case. Of all the high-end coach bikes in the line-up, this is one of the workers, and although it certainly depreciates, it is just a little slower than the rest.
