1.23 Friday Favorites – The Fitnessista

Hello friends! Happy Friday! How are you? What are you planning this weekend? I hope all my friends in the winter storm’s path are staying safe and cozy. This weekend we have an NCL event at the food bank, a date night (!) and a barre class. I’m also busy with these little pups in between work IHP modules.

Last week I had a great little trip to San Diego for our mastermind. We have events a few times a year and I always look forward to the opportunity to brainstorm, share ideas and learn from our ideas. Jill. I was especially excited about this because it was an excuse to see and catch up with my best friend Betsy.

My flight purposefully arrived very early on Wednesday so I had some time to relax before the events. It was pure chaos in here with little Lola – she’s so sweet, but man, puppies sure are a lot of work lol – so I went straight to Betsy’s. I saw her before she went to work that day, and I was able to use her house as a hub before we checked into the hotel.

I grabbed a coffee from Better Buzz and took it to Mission for a blissful hour-long walk along the ocean. Lunch consisted of a takeaway from Tender Greens, which I took to Betsy’s to enjoy before a one-on-one customer meeting.

When Betsy came home, we took a Lagree class (the best!!):

(to have this tank in at least 6 colours. It is comfortable, long and does not ride up, with built-in bra)

and then went to Ponyboy’s for dinner. The increased comfort of the 50’s with the option to add caviar to many of their offerings. 😉 We will DEFINITELY be back! The drinks and food were so good, and catching up with Betsy over dinner + cocktails was all I needed.

I met my business best friend Giselle at the hotel, and the rest of the weekend was filled with sessions, brainstorming,

great meals, walks, more Lagree (I went three days in a row for the first time ever. My legs and core died too) and sleeping through the night. Bless it.

It was so wonderful to see Tine! We stay connected via text, but I haven’t seen her in person in years.

It was just the little refresher I needed and it’s always a treat to be back in one of my favorite places.

(I wear these jeans all the time <– now on sale)For now, it's time for the weekly Friday Faves party. Here I share some of my favorite finds of the week and around the web. I always love hearing about your favorites too, so please shout out something you like in the comments below.

Fashion, Beauty, Random:

A hike in Sabino Canyon with the fam. The river was flowing and the weather was perfect.

We can always count on P for snacks:

(the kids are obsessed with candy canes and I have the last box from the “last chance!” section at Whole Foods. Goodbye candy canes for another year.)

We also tried Chilln; a new ice cream parlor in Tucson. You choose your base, mix-ins, and toppings, and they freeze it immediately with nitrogen so the texture is super smooth.

This is almond milk ice cream with olive oil and sea salt. I wanted to try something and this did not disappoint. Maybe we would have gone twice within 2 days?

Read, watch, listen:

Do you have the recent season of Emily in Paris? I’m only a few episodes in and while I think it’s moving slower than previous seasons, it’s perfect escapist fluff.

Downloaded this to read.

Final Substack here on how I turned the small blog into a business.

Fitness, health and good nutrition:

Local friends: Penelope pizza is gluten-free! You just have to call and order 24 hours in advance because they make everything in house and the bread takes that long to rise. This will certainly be a normal thing here:

To be completely honest, I haven’t been very good at making healthy lunches for myself. The days are filled with phone calls, so I have had quick bites in the afternoon, such as muesli, meat sticks or chips. I normally make a large batch of soup, and I felt stressed.

My friend Giselle recommend Thistle and it was AMAZING. The meals contain no added gluten (some contain oats, so pay attention to the ingredients if you’re sensitive) and there are plant-based and meat-based options. I ordered four lunches and two snacks and they were all fresh and delicious. You can try it and get 60% off your first week my referral link here!

Flavorful, this red Thai curry with ground chicken had a ton of veggies and 29g of protein.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! Have a great weekend and I’ll see you soon!

xoxo

Gina
