Are stuck for ideas for your YouTube content? This can help.
YouTube has one New list of seven ways to come up with content ideasWhat can help you think about your next clip.
And although some of these things you have probably already thought of, it is worthwhile to notice the ideas and consider whether they can help in your creative process.
Here is a summary of the seven tips from YouTube.
1. Problem/solution
YouTube says that you can grab a timer and spend 15 minutes on every problem that your audience is confronted with. You can then brainstorm for another 15 minutes on solutions, or ways in which your content could solve those problems.
Given the pain points of your audience, an important way is to improve the attraction, and by viewing things from their perspective, that can give you a short victory in your content idea process.
2. Vent out the best hits
YouTube also suggests that you use YouTube Analytics to find your best performing clips and then expand if you can.
According to YouTube:
“What were your best performing videos? Can you make a ‘part 2’, an updated version, or explore a sub-topic from that video deeper?
This is actually what YouTube Analytics is for, and it may be worth digging deeper into your data to double your hits.
3. Tap trends
A simple one: the use of tools such as ‘trends’ in YouTube Studio, as well as Google Trends can help to guide your approach. The key in this respect is to find a unique angle based on your channel and/or content approach.
4. Public poll
YouTube says you can use the community messages of your channel to pollute your audience about what they want to see, or you can organize a live Q and a session to collect/ collect feedback/
I think the challenge here for smaller channels gets enough reactions, but if you have a significant enough audience, this can be a feasible feedback mechanism.
5. Opposite approach
This seems like a clickbait, but …
“Take a joint advice or a popular video type in your niche and turn it upside down.“
I think there are always opposing stories, there are always people who have gone the other way and have achieved success, and perhaps emphasize these stories, or your own variations thereof, can be an advantage.
6. Use search data
YouTube proposes to use the car suggestion of the search bar to use the functional ideas
“Type a keyword in connection with your niche and see which keywords appear with a long tail.“
7. Mind card
Finally, Youtube proposes to go through a “mind mapping” exercise to explore opportunities.
“Start with your most important niche or channel theme in the middle. Determine with sub-topics and further branches out with specific questions, ideas or formats with regard to those sub-topics.“
This type of activity can help to expand your thinking, while you can also dig further in the value that each element offers for your audience and use it as a different inspiration remark.
Finally, YouTube also notes that you can use the “Inspiration” tab in YouTube Studio to guide your thinking.
‘With this section you can brainstorm about new video ideas, miniatures and more with the help of AI.“
Some useful tips that can help to inspire your approach to your next YouTube upload.
