The only movements that have so far been attached to a hugely disappointing deadline day are out, whereby Youssef Chermiti secures a permanent transfer to Glasgow Rangers, understood the transfer costs at £ 8 million, with £ 2 million add-ons.
The 21-year-old, who was behind Beto and Thierno Barry, was in the pecking order for leading the line, was omitted from the team for the EFL Cup match against Mansfield Town while looking to confirm his departure from the club after two largely fruitless years.
Everton signed Chermiti of Sporting CP in 2023 for a reported fee of £ 14 million, including add-ons. But Chermiti struggled for playing time, and despite being a highly rated prospect by some, injuries hinders his continuous development and he has struggled for playing time, first under Sean Dyche and then under David Moyes.
Chermiti, brought in as a striker with great promise, made 24 performances for the blues, most of them are from the bank, without scoring a single goal.
“He has a good chance of going on loan,” said the Everton manager in the press conference before the game before he was confronted against Wolves on Saturday. But the discussions with Rangers eventually came with a permanent transfer.
A permanent relocation is probably seen as favorable for all involved in this phase of his career.

I cannot believe that we have paid the money that we paid in honesty for Chermiti, he had hardly kicked a ball for the first team of Sporting Lisbon.
From all the reports that I have read in Lisbon at that time, they all knew doubts about his ability to do it in England, clearly proven at the moment.

If we have bought him for £ 14 million and have written his book value for the 2 years that he has been to us, we will deal with our remaining book value, I think. We would make a small profit if reaching add -ons.
It has not been a success from someone’s perspective, but Thelwell still believes that there is a player. I believe that we have inserted a Sell-on Clause Clawback.

Ernie (1), the ‘Deadline Day’ was or at least so far ‘enormously disappointing’. The window was more generally a good one. We needed very badly back. We didn’t get one. And that is ‘very disappointing’ for me.
Chermiti is another example of a transfer failure. Nowadays it is adjacent to the criminal to buy and sell a young guy like him. Even worse for him, he goes to Scotland’s laugh.

Not a great record on strikers from Super Kev Thewell. And some wanted to keep him …

Ian @ 5, it’s not as if Moyes has a great record with strikers, in other words?

I am going to ignore the signing of Ndiaye, we are Ian

Do we have more strikers different from Barry and Beto?

Don’t agree.
The boy was injured here for most of his time. I’m sure he didn’t want to be injured
We will not make him a loss if he does well and we will get a few million on a win he makes.
Criminal is when we sign players such as Gbamin for 25m plus 65 KA Weekly Wage and he leaves for a free
Many more examples of this type of transfer

We are all able to score goals. It is not the 70s.

I am still right in thinking possible loans, which would always be a more likely scenario.
Chermiti was in a relegation team and was also injured. During his time with Everton he would never let him play the ball as he would have at Sporting.
Everton was a bad move for him, in terms of development and Rangers was perhaps a little better. Someone has just seen the money. I would have stayed in Lisbon. As soon as he gets artic conditions in Glasgow, he will think the same.

I wish him the very best. He should try the fried mars -bars and chips with dad’s sauce (board) Glaswegian haute cuisine

No, that’s it for this Jerome window (unless we sign a free agent)

Joe @8,
We have Braide Graham.

Not that much loss. I would be very surprised if he, or the club, had achieved one of the goals that would activate one of the clauses where the reimbursement reached somewhere near £ 14 million.
I would be very surprised if he didn’t succeed. And when he starts to perform, we get another £ 2 million and we almost even break.
Moyes clearly does not assess him, otherwise it would have been a straight loan to integrate him in or around the first team next summer together with Armstrong.

Braiden Graham is nowhere near Senior level. Strange how he keeps growing up.

Jake, the name of Graham is only brought up because we are so miserable with options with Martin Sherif and Francis Okoronkwo from loan.
It seems that Ndiaye will be used if there are injuries to Beto and Barry.

I am aware of that Gavin. He is still nowhere near a senior game for at least 3 years – that is my point.

Martin Sherif and Francis Okoronkwo will never play Premier League football, so hardly a big loss.

Good decision to sell him and at least get back a bit of money, 24 performances and no goals!
Must play at a lower football level and then continue from there.

Jake, I have not scanned all the messages, but I suspect that his name will only be raised for no other reason than are we a shortage of strikers?
From a realistic point of view, none of our among 21 players is good enough for the bank, but that is why we should have brought someone in to replace Chermiti, then we would not have ridiculous screaming about Braide Graham.

In surprise we have cut ace, instead of sending him on loan. He clearly didn’t play much, but there were a glimpse of a player there. Further.

That price tag of £ 10 mm on paper could be in so many episodes that, although we may have hardly included a “on par” on the P&L statement for this season, we may not receive the full cash amount to God-Knows when.
Anyway, not at all of this deal, especially because of the ailing price tag and giving up the potential, but Chermiti is not the first, and will not be the last that the rumors of Moyes have made (for “not training hard enough”): If that happens, the price kag of the players would fall than the technical shares in Nasdaq.
A compliment for Thelwell’s opportunistic raid to gain a distressed actively cheap that he knows very well.

A little bit temperes the theory of buying young people and at least earning your money back. Although you could claim that losing a third of the value is not bad if a signature has simply not demonstrated anything than the required skill.
I’m not sure if I would call the deadline day “enormously disappointing”. We have done a good thing before – that is better than to climb around at the last minute. Yes, we still need a number of reinforcements, but it would never happen in one window.
It is always nice to have a deadline day excitement, but that is only for entertainment instead of a sign of the progress of the club.
