Okay, so I get it, yesterday’s post was a bit of a curveball with no real cards. That post was more for me than for you, I like to review my writing from time to time (I’ve been thinking about examining my writing on this blog, we’ll see if I ever go through with that).
As I’ve said before, if I had written nothing other than “here are a few more cards I have”, this blog would have closed in 2010. I like to mix it up.
But honestly, I’m all for the cards if I’m not forced to do something else with my time (i.e. work, chores, tasks, responsibilities, various crises, mind-numbing urges). That’s almost all my free time: cardboard. I suspect this is the case for you too, if you follow this blog.
So why not show off the cards I’ve added in my spare time, under the radar, while I’m writing about magazines or music or whatever else you didn’t come here to see? It’s quite an eclectic group.

These two cards arrived the Monday after the Dodgers won the World Series. Pretty current. I won the Yoshinobu Yamamoto Relic on Bluesky through the regular giveaway, probably the best card I got from those generous folks.
The Will Smith was my attempt to get at least one of the “maroon glitter” Dodgers from this year’s Heritage set. I’m not trying to track down a Dodgers copy of every Heritage parallel – well, not actively, anyway – but I like that my Dodgers collection includes cards I would never want to pick up for another team.
Along those lines, I also added Will Smith’s orange “crackle foil” (I hate that name) that you saw at the top. The card looks great and deserves a better name.

This excellent card from last year’s Topps Black & White online-only set came into my collection because I saw it on it cards as I see them. It took me all of 5 minutes to order my own copy when I saw that.
Many of the cards in this set are quite attractive. Some others are not interesting at all. It is a perfect set to pick and choose. This one is one of the best, if not the best.

These Dodgers “playing cards” are from the 2005 Hero Decks sets that I’ve coveted for a long time, immediately forgot about, and ended up getting four of. The Hero Decks are available in different team sets, all 52 cards, as in a standard playing card deck. The cards vary a bit from set to set, but I believe they all feature Chuck Senties’ artwork, which I really like.

Even more art creations, this time from former blogger Gritz, who makes various card series based on well-known Topps creations through his artwork. I like the look of this and the card on the right is a parallel glossy foil.

His card envelopes (this is series 2 and he is working on series 3) always come with a variety of baseball themed trinkets that look like magnets or stickers, although I don’t think they are either. I love this particular one from Mark “The Bird” Fidrych.

The 1975 Topps buyback mission never sleeps! It still happens in fits and starts. I recently added this key card (the leader cards aren’t the most elusive, but some sell for stupid prices).
This was the 539th entry into the set. I just got another one that has yet to arrive and I have my eye on a few more (there are more I need at really ridiculous prices – I’m not spending $80 on a buyback). As soon as a few more arrive, I have a post scheduled about part of the buyback hunt. Find out soon.

Today these 2025 Heritage short prints have arrived as I continue to complete the set. It was more of a grind than last year – either that, or I was just more diligent a year ago. I completed the 2024 Heritage set in September! I’m 25 cards away from completing this one.
But that’s probably because I was super intense last year. When I think back to Heritage 2023, I completed it in January 2024, so thinking about about two years ago, I’m pretty much on track. I hope the Cal Raleigh SP gets wrestled down very soon (if it doesn’t get taken out of my cart). There is still the matter of the Pete Crow-Armstrong, which has been far too expensive. But I’ll get it.
That is a selection of the latest additions to the collection. Of course there are other things too (mostly already put away) and there are also things from fellow bloggers that I will have to show off soon.
So there you go, lots of cards for you to check out this time.
