“Happy Gilmore 2” set records during the opening weekend on Netflix. The Adam Sandler extension is filled with nostalgia, the expected slapstick -humor and a lot of cameor of the professional golf and entertainment world.

Everyone from Scottie Scheffler to Rory McIlroy, John Daly, Jack Nicklaus and Rickie Fowler adorns the silver screen in the Sandler extension. In the meantime you have heard that PGA Tour winner Hunter Mahan served as Sandler’s Swing Double after the actor injured his knee. But Mahan was not the first choice that Sandler’s interpretation was.

Producer Chad Mumm has recently unveiled Skratch’s Vanity Index Podcast That he was initially Michael Block on the tab as Double of Sandler.

“The line producers were like:” We got a problem. Adam hurt his knee, “said Mumm.” And he was afraid that he could not do the current swing as well as he thought he could. So they are like, we need a swing doubles for Adam. My first thought was: ‘Who can be a Sandler Body Double? Ah, Michael Block! ‘ Quick a day later, you have Michael Block in full Happy Gilmore Outift. And so he literally had to cut his hair.

‘Happy Gilmore 2’ has just written history. But not because it’s a perfect movie

That is when Blockie’s time was demolished on the set.

“They look at him and they are so:” Yes, that is not going to work, he is too long. So he is like you have to say Michael Block that you are out. He cut and painted his hair and flew to New York and now he flies back. “

Mumm said that he had contacted Jason Dufner’s agent, but Dufner refused. Mumm then sent an e -mail to all agencies that were looking for a happy Gilmore Swing -Dubbel.

“I am just looking for every golfer who is in the thirty or 40, can do the swing and has time,” said Mumm.

Ten minutes later he received a video from Mahan who shoots balls while he did the Happy Gilmore Running Swing and the decision was made.

Mahan did not tell Golf’s enough podcast that he spent a lot of time studying and perfecting Gilmore’s Swing. He didn’t even want to ruin Sandler’s iconic rip a bit.

‘I looked up’ Happy Gilmore ‘ [swing] – Is it a walk, is it a shuffle, which foot goes first, you know? I wanted to be as professional and real as I could, “said Mahan.” And so I tampered with a few different things and tried to get, I mean, his finish is very high, right? It’s like you can say, it’s so, boom! And he falls a bit with his foot, and he doesn’t really stand there. It is a large high finish and so, so I wanted to make sure that I got that as well as possible.

“And I think it was the first day of Thursday, I was introduced to him a bit, and he is something like that, I want it to be big, and walking in a bit was not that important, but a bit like a large, long, exaggerated swing, as big as you could, as good as you it as well, and so on

Mahan performed his role perfectly, but the golf world was robbed of another Michael Block -moment -at least to next year’s PGA championship in Aronimink.
