XXIO 14 & 14+ Woods break new ground for fairways

The latest generation of XXIO fairway woods enters uncharted territory with the launch of the 14 and 14+ models for 2026.

XXIO has unveiled the successor to the XXIO 13 fairway woods, but this new game-improving design from 2026 includes two different models for the first time.

That’s because the brand has introduced the XXIO 14+ in addition to the standard 14 model, while the plus model is suitable for golfers with higher swing speeds than before.

The two fairways designs are part of a completely new XXIO 14 series, which was launched together with XXIO 14 drivershybrids and irons.

Advantages and disadvantages

✅ Very easy to launch high from both fairway and light rough, ideal for moderate swing speeds
✅ Lightweight overall construction helps increase clubhead speed without swinging harder
✅ Confidence-inspiring head shape with plenty of forgiveness on off-center hits
✅ More compact, player style 14+ head shape appeals to confident ball strikers.
❌ The lightweight feel may lack the sturdy, heavy feel that some better players prefer
❌ Premium prizes for game improvement style wood

XXIO 14 Woods Specifications and Design

The XXIO 14 fairway woods are the standard model of the two designs in the series and the direct replacement for the 13 model.

The new 14 design features multi-material construction, including a forged VR-Titanium face that incorporates the brand new ULTiFLEX technology that complements the series.

ULTiFLEX replaces the BiFlex design used in previous models, providing improved and superior face resilience for impressive ball speeds over a larger area of the face.

Edge Cup Face increases impact on the face, while a High-Grip Milled Pattern on the toe and heel of the face provides spin and control in wet conditions or on off-center hits.

The Cannon Sole design features a large cavity behind the face for a low center of gravity, as well as increased toe and heel thickness for stability.

Also present in the design are XXIO’s standard ActivWing ribs on the crown, which are carried over from previous models and help refine airflow to generate faster swing speeds through the air.

The 14 types of wood are available in 3-wood (15 degrees), 4-wood (16.5 degrees), 5-wood (18 degrees), 7-wood (20 degrees) and 9-wood (23 degrees). They are not adjustable.

XXIO 14+ Driver Specifications and Design

The 14+ is the new addition to the range and a more compact option aimed at golfers with higher swing speeds of 90mph+.

Never before available in the XXIO series, this model features a more compact crown with reduced offset for workability and a focused feel.

Compared to the standard version, the 14+ – like the equivalents of the drivers, hybrids and irons – are suitable for faster swings and are aimed at golfers who previously would not have been suitable for XXIO clubs.

XXIO 14+ Fairway wood

The model features the same ULTiFLEX VR-Titanium face design and better energy transfer as previous models in this series, as well as the Edge Cup face that also contributes to ball speeds and distance.

The High-Grip Milled pattern in the toe and heel portion of the face provides consistency when hitting the ball, especially in wet conditions.

Also part of the design is the Cannon Sole to help lower the center of gravity and increase forgiveness, and the ActivWing technology which aids aerodynamics and speed through the air.

The 14+ wood types are available in 3-wood (15 degrees) and 5-wood (18 degrees). They are not adjustable.

XXIO 14 Fairway Woods Review: Are They Any Good?

Modified rather than redesigned, the new XXIO 14 fairway woods remain an excellent choice for moderate swing speeds that need help creating speed, height and carry distance.

The interesting move is the introduction of the 14+ fairway head, which is more compact from heel to toe with a slightly deeper face for a more traditional, “tour-inspired” look behind the ball that will appeal to better golfers.

It’s an interesting move from a brand that has always been considered a game improvement option, but the appeal to a wider range of golfers is a welcome addition for 2026.
