XRP Fakeout to $1.65 Leads to Crash Fear: Tombstone Doji in Pictures

However, the following hours showed this to be another fakeout as XRP fell below $1.50, wiping out almost all of the weekend gains.

According to a few prominent crypto analysts, the asset’s immediate surge to $1.65 and its inability to close higher than the weekly candle meant it has printed a tombstone doji.

This is a technical term that suggests the formation of a bearish reversal candlestick pattern, indicating that the bullish momentum has faded. This is often followed by a deeper price drop.

Ali Martinez, one of the analysts who spoke about the significance of the tombstone doji, noted that the last time XRP charted it, its price fell 46% in just a few weeks. If something similar were to happen now, XRP could lose the coveted support at $1.00 and head towards $0.80.

CryptoWZRD’s opinion was somewhat different. They also acknowledged that the tombstone doji was close to the weekly chart, but added that “most of this move was a pullback from the previous peak in a low liquidity environment, which is healthy.”
