WTT Macao Preview: Opening Matchups Open

World No. 1 Lin Shidong will be confronted with KAO Cheng-jui, just one of the many exciting first round matchups at the WTT Champions Series event in Macao that starts on Tuesday. The second seed, Wang Chuqin will be confronted with Sora Matsushima. World No. 3 Tomokazu Harimoto will be confronted with Dimitrij OVTCharov, and World No. 4 Hugo Calderano will be confronted with a Jaehyun. All four top seeds have solid opponents – and many exciting competitions must be on tap all week.

CANAK JHA of the US will compete against Borussia Dusseldorf Dang Qiu in the opening round. The winner is likely to be confronted with Hugo Calderano – and anyone who comes from that very competitive neighborhood of the draw must also fight past Patrick Franziska and Quadri Aruna to reach the semi -final. Lin Shidong’s fourth of the draw includes Shunsuke Togami and Anders Lind and Darko Jorgic. The third part of the draw includes Benedikt Duda and Harimoto as well as Anton Kallberg and Lee Sang Su. And the last fourth of the draw has a few giants in Lin Yun-Ju and Wang Chuqin together with a few recent “Giant Killers” in Simon Gauzy and Alexis Lebrun.

This should be an exciting week in Macao.
