Comedian Jon Stewart has suggested that President Trump doesn’t look like Adolf Hitler because “Hitler was popular.”
Stewart made the bizarre claim during Saturday’s episode The Late Show with Jon Stewart.
“People keep saying this man is Hitler. No, he isn’t. And I’ll tell you why he isn’t. Hitler was popular.”
“Not this guy. He doesn’t fly many places you think he might fly.”

While it is true that Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party came to power democratically, the comparison or “joke” falls apart when you consider that Hitler oversaw a brutal and totalitarian regime in which dissent was punishable by death.
Trump has now won three consecutive presidential elections, despite overwhelming opposition from the media and political establishment.
Since returning to the airwaves in 2024 after a long hiatus, Stewart has become infamous for his bizarre rants and outbursts about the current administration.
Just last week, Stewart attempted to defend the actions of Renee Good, an anti-ICE protester who was shot after trying to run over a federal officer carrying out his duties.
“When I look at that video, I don’t see either side taking a dogmatic stance,” Stewart said at the time.
“I see a woman, perhaps naively, sitting in a car, thinking she has to do something and she’s going to block something, and an extremely overreaction to that small act of defiance.
“And then, when they say she has been radicalized, I think: there are masked gunmen in her neighborhood, who she has read have taken 17-year-old children off the streets.”

During an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Stewart argued that the media should double down on its anti-Trump bias because that is the most effective method of resistance.
