WTA Tour Rankings Report – from 8 September 2025 – Open Court

The end of a major always brings some important changes in the ranking.

Some players fall straight down, unable to defend a great result from the previous year.

Others get up the rankings, with the grace of a full year in that position to try to add more points and buffer their place before those points drop off after the 2025 US.

And so it is that Amanda Anisimova, after two major final, is on … No. 4.

Two -time the American open champion Aryna Sabalenka is now around 3,300 points ahead of Iga Swiatek and firmly at the number 1 place.

It was a tough day to smile at Anisimova, but the presence of all these ladies certainly illuminated her load a bit.

Amanda Anisimova (US): No. 9 =====> Nr. 4 (Amanda Anisimoiva fell in her second consecutive Grand Slam final. But the news here is that she made a second consecutive Grand Slam final, eventually well acquitted and now the number 4 player in the world).

Clara Tauson (Den): No. 14 =========> Nr. 12 (Tauson was in the losing end of a marathon loss for Alexandra Eala-14-12 in the third set. But although she didn’t earn many points, the movements around her meant that she climbed to a new career).

Naomi Osaka (US): No. 24 ====> Nr. 14 (What a crazy story it would have been if Osaka had succeeded in beating Anisimova in that US US Open Semifinal. She couldn’t get it all the way. But wins over Samsonova, Ostapenko, Svitolina, Kasatkina, Kasatkina, Gauff and New York-in the past weeks In the top 15 of the first time in the top 15 of the first time in the top 15 of the first time in the top 15 of the first time in the top 15 of the first place, she is closer to where they belong).

Marketa Vondrousova (CZE): No. 60 ============> Nr. 36 (Vondrousova had a great tournament in New York, until she had to retire before her quarter -final match against Aryna Sabalenka. Yet she defeated Kessler and Paolini and Rybakina and made a big dent in her rank. Let’s hope the knee does not love the heads for too long).

Barbora Krejcikova (Jun): No. 62 ==============> Nr. 40 (Vondrousova’s colleague Czech and Grand Slam champion also made a nice dent in her ranking by reaching the quarters. But heavy victories over Navarro and Townsend – a crazy – took their toll and she didn’t have much left for Jessica Pegula in the last eight).

Ann li (vs): No. 58 ===========> Nr. 46 (Li had been quiet lately. But she jumps back in the top 50 by beating Belinda Bencic on the way to the fourth round. She is two away from her career best).

Maria Sakkari (Gre): nr. 64 ====> Nr. 55 (Sakkari slowly gets that ranking. She plays in her happy place this week, Guadalajara).

Alexandra Eala (Phi): nr. 75 =================> No. 61 (Eala added her victory in New York and defeated Tauson in a classic, with a WTA 125 title in Mexico this week).

Cristina Bucsa (ESP): No. 95 ==========> Nr. 62 (Despite a late and hurried arrival in New York after playing the Doubles final in Monterrey, the Steady Spaniard makes the third round in New York in both Singles and Doubles).

Priscilla Hon (van): No. 126 =============> Nr. 106 (The 27-year-old qualified for her second consecutive Grand Slam, won her first game at that level since before the pandemic and made the third round to reach a new career high).

Taylor Townsend (US): No. 139 ===========> Nr. 112 (It was a dramatic and impressive tournament for Townsend, who defeated Ostapenko and Andreeva and was involved in one of the matches of the tournament-a loss of three set-a three-set loss for Krejcikova with a 15-13 second set of tiebreak that, she had one of her many match points. vacation).

Janice Tjen (Ina): No. 149 ===========> No. 130 (The American university product from Indonesia is a nice turnout and making comparisons with a player she says she has modeled her game, Ashleigh Barty. She qualified and beat Veronika Kudermetova in the first round, made two ITF-final in the previous weeks. She is 59-11 in the year on the rank of the year on the year on the rank of the year on the rank in the year on the rank in the rank of the year in the year on the rank of the year on the year on the rank of the year on the year on the year on the year on the year on the year on the year on the rank of the year on the year on the year on the year on the year on the year on the year on all native. past).

Linda Klimovicova (Pol): No. 188 ===========> Nr. 171 (A 21-year-old from Poland, Klimovicova was quite popular with the young boys and the older, less suitable for the age of boys, she reached the last qualifying round at the US Open and reached a career high).

Carol Zhao (Can): Nr. 250 ===========> Nr. 218 (Now Zhao won a round at the US Open qualification bending out – and flying to Changsha, China to play a WTA 125 during the second week. At least her ranking was given a nice little boost).

Jessica Pegula (US): No. 4 ============> Nr. 7 (Pegula makes the US Open Semis instead of the final, in a tight part of the ranking, it means that it drops three places).

Dat is nog Always, not so bad, seen.

Emma Navarro (US): No. 11 =========> Nr. 18 (It’s not surprising that navarro has finally dropped down out of the top 15. She’s not having a great year backing up a Splendid 2024, Despite Having Played More Tournament than Anyone in the Top 35 Except for Diana Shanaider. In in -Dian Shanaider. Monterrey, late in the game, to try to buffer Those 2024 Semifinal US Open points.

Beatriz Haddad Maia (Bra): nr. 22 ============> Nr. 27 (In the top 10 only two years ago, Haddad Maia is another who has a difficult year. Maybe playing at home in Brazil will be a rare opportunity in Sao Paulo this week-the rest of a season that has so far started on 13-24, starts).

Donna Vekic (CRO): No. 49 ===========> Nr. 68 (Vekic got a heavy draw and went to Coco Gauff in the second round, for a week when she defended the fourth round points. She falls from the top 50).

Ajla Tomljanovic (AUS): nr. 79 ==========> Nr. 91 ((Tomljanovic should probably have disturbed 2023 US Open Champion Coco Gauff in the first round. It was so close and who knows what she could have done afterwards, with a friendly draw. She is the number 4 seed in Guadalajara this week).

Elena-Gabriela Russ (Rou): Nr. 70 ============> Nr. 96 (Russ went out in the first round of the US open for Daria Kasatkina and has not won a competition since she went from the qualification to the final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in June. She qualified and reached the third round in New York, so she dropped a few real points).

Bianca Andreescu (CAN): No. 173 ==========> Nr. 183 (Andreescu has not played anymore since she hurts her ankle in Montreal. But it seems that she is again at the practice court).

Harriet Dart (GBR): No. 221 ===========> Nr. 261 (Dart lost this year in the second qualifying round after making the second round of the main drawing a year ago. So her ranking, on a career-high no. 70 exactly a year ago, continues to tumble).

Martina Trevisan (ITA): nr. 285 ============> Nr. 299 (Trevisan is in the draw in Guadalajara as a wildcard, to play Rebecca Marino in the first round.
