The house ten years ago when it was already abandoned.
He fought against the council on unpaid rates for decades, but in the end it was a demolition team and no fewer than 70 pigeons who crushed the derelict house of a notorious Aussie Slumlord.
For decades of decline, it was reduced to debris in six hours when a demolition team tore through stubborn property millionaire Edward ‘Ted’ Amos’ crumbling ascot -house, the smell of which apparently became unbearable after no fewer than 70 pigeons.

Mr. Amos had confronted with continuous action by Brisbane City Council about no fewer than eight property spread over some of the most expensive suburbs in the city center – the worst of which was the Lancaster Road -Huis that was not only expired and unused, but so bad that neighbors could no longer tolerate to open windows.
The demolition team lasted only six hours to tear the crumbling house with two bedrooms in Ascot’s Lancaster Road to the ground, with their biggest challenge to prevent it from collapsing in the house next door.
“It was pretty bad. There were pigeons through it and the smell of it was incredible.”
“The neighbors couldn’t even open the window because of the stench.”
A part of the house that was susceptible to a portrayal dangerous had to be removed by hand to reduce the danger.
It is understood that the council approved the demolition, although no publicly accessible record could be found on the BCC development site.

Other neighbors were relieved to finally see something happening on the site that ‘a pigeon palace’ was for literally decades that it has been abandoned.
“It’s good, we’ve been complaining for a long time.
The median house price in Ascot is $ 2,525 million, located within 6 km from the Brisbane CBD. The prices in the suburbs have risen by 83 percent in the last five years. A house with four bedrooms built in the back garden of his immediate neighbor sold for $ 1.13 million in 2020 and is currently appreciated to $ 2.03 million.

Amos had offered his expired property for sale in May as a “Renovators Dream” in its offer – with the block directly across the historic Racecourse Eagle Farm, just 50 meters away from the entrance, as well as Racecourse Road where shops such as Maggi T and a multiple of restaurants, supermarkets and professional offices are located.
He had mentioned it as “municipal approval that has already been granted to demolish or remove the existing home”.
Data shows that the property is registered in the name of Mr. Amos, and given it has been zoned for medium development with low density – which translates into one to two mansions or developments for mixed use of a maximum of three floors – he is to make a fortune of the leveled site.
Mr. Amos – who did not comment on returning a call to him earlier – took place in trouble with the authorities, including claims he made tenants responsible for repairs to rented real estate with several houses that were left to crumble.
