The PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Fall returns to Mexico this week with the World Wide Technology Championship at El Cardonal in Diamante Cabo San Lucas.
The field in Mexico features some big names, with Ryder Cuppers Ben Griffin and JJ Spaun alongside 2023 US Open champion Wyndham Clark.
Despite the headliners, Subpar podcast co-hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz look at the PGA Tour’s youth movement this week. Fanatics Substandard betting odds of the week, starting with Johnny Keefer, who just finished No. 1 on the Korn Ferry Tour points list and will be a PGA Tour rookie next season. Keefer enters the WWT Championship and is ranked 53rd in the OWGR; a solid week at El Cardonal should boost him into the top 50 and put him on track to earn a Masters invitation as a top-50 player at the end of the year.
Drew Stoltz sees a good week ahead for Keefer in Mexico.
“I’m bringing a guy who hasn’t proven himself on the PGA Tour yet because he’s just getting there now,” Stoltz said. “He won the points table on the Korn Ferry Tour. He’s pushing the top 50 in the world without having a PGA Tour card, which is crazy. I’m going to take him into the top 20 at +220. He’s really good. Everyone on the Korn Ferry Tour points to him and says, ‘This is the guy.'”

Knost, meanwhile, is looking for Michael Brennan, who last won the Bank of Utah Championship at the invitation of a sponsor, for another big week.
“I don’t know if it’s a one-hit wonder; I’ve barely seen the guy play,” Knost said. “But he won in his last start. It was on the PGA Tour. He got a sponsor exemption and he won. You can get Michael Brennan in the top 10 at +330. This spot is wide open, just like Black Desert. Michael Brennan is crushing him. We’re talking 200 mph ball speed. The spot should be perfect for him.”
