China claimed its 15th Suhandinata Cup victory at the 2025 BWF World Junior Championships, beating defending champions Indonesia on Saturday. India and Japan secured bronze medals as runners-up in the semi-finals.The Chinese team, consisting of three gold medalists from the Asian Junior Championships and two silver medalists, dominated Indonesia with a score of 45-30, 45-44 in a match that lasted just over two hours.The first set saw an impressive performance from China after Asian junior girls’ doubles champions Cao Zi Han and Chen Fan Shu Tian narrowly defeated Riska Anggraini and Rinjani Nastine 9-8. China went on to win all remaining matches in the set.The second set started with Indonesia taking an early 9-5 lead through Riska and Rinjani. Chen Jun Ting and Cao recovered from an 8-13 deficit to score 10 of the 11 points and lead 18-14.Asian junior silver medalist Liu Si Ya faced stiff competition from Thalita Wiryawan but maintained China’s lead at 27-24. Indonesia’s number one among the juniors Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah equalized at 27-27 and the scores remained close until 31-31.Liu Yang Ming Yu’s consistent performance helped China build a four-point lead going into the final doubles match. In the decisive match, Indonesians Alexius Subagio and Raihan Pramono reduced the deficit to 40-39 and earned a set point at 44-43.Chen Jun Ting and Liu Jun Rong kept their composure to take the win after forcing an Indonesian error. The BWF World Junior Championships will be suspended for a day on Sunday, with the individual events for the Eye Level Cups starting on Monday.
