Hello friends! I hope you’re doing well and enjoy the day. I have a podcast interview this morning and today we have the usual home school/dance/basketball pleasure.

Today I wanted to talk a bit about working from home and some tips with you all.

OG -reader friends are familiar with this story, but I started the blog when we lived in Valdosta. I had just started working as a personal trainer and leaving the world shop world, and it eventually grew into something that I could never have imagined. I love to make contact with all of you, and every day I am so grateful for the freedom to work and earn an income from home while I can be here for the children.

I know that many friends who have a company from home or work at a distance. It has become a bit of the “new normal” and I think it’s great that it is an option. Since the pandemic, the way we think at work has been completely shifted: home offices replaced cabins, Videochats replaced meeting rooms and coffee shops became the new coworking -hubs. And to be honest? It comes with a lot of benefits: Convenience, flexibility, less home -working traffic, and often a better chance of balance between work and life.

But here is the truth: remote work or working from home is not always easy. Without the right strategies it can feel insulating, overwhelming or even unproductive.

Today I wanted to share some of my favorite external work tips that will help you lead your best working life, whether you are at home, an office or a coffee shop.

Work tips remotely

I think understanding what work remotely really means, the key is. It not only works in your pajamas or answers telephone conversations from the bank. It is about designing systems, routines and habits that keep you productive, connected and fulfilled.

These tips to work remotely are meant to help you not only ‘make ends up’, but actually succeed, grow and enjoy your work of home arrangement. I also wanted to record tips for my friends who almost work for a company, because working for yourself is another beast. (If you want me to do more blog posts behind the scenes, I would like to do that too!)

What does external activities mean?

In the core, working remotely means performing your work outside of a traditional office. This can mean that setting up a home office, working from a coffee shop or even doing your work while traveling. Unlike conventional jobs, there is no water cooler chat, no morning film and no boss who walks past your desk every 20 minutes.

The biggest difference? Freedom and responsibility. You have more to say about your working hours, your workspace and your daily rhythm, but you also need discipline and creativity to stay focused.

Work remotely is not just an advantage anymore; It is a completely new way to structure both work and life.

How to make work successful remotely

How you can stay productive while you work remotely

Tip: Make a “living -work ritual” (even if it is fake)

One of the most difficult parts of external activities is to switch from “Home Mode” to “Work mode”. Press your brain for a mini ritual: walk around the block, place a special coffee or listen to a 5-minute pomplist before you sit at your desk. It indicates your brain that your working hours have started.

Tip: hack your workspace

Skip the mess. Add plants, a salt lamp or even a candle to your home office setting. Research shows that environmental instructions influence productivity- so make your space inspiring.

Bonus: nobody prevents you from hanging twinkle lights or setting up a walking agency. I love my hiking cushion and often use it all day long.

Tip: work in time blocks

Because it is very easy for me to be distracted, I will block my time, so that I am focused on one specific task for that period.

How you can ask for a wage increase if you work remotely

Tip: Collect “Vouchers”

It is easy for external contributions to stay unnoticed. Keep a running document of victories: projects completed, glowing feedback from customers, crushed deadlines. When the time comes before the time, you have data to back up your request (and it is harder for a boss to say no if it is right for them).

How to build relationships while you work remotely

Tip: Plan non-work phone calls

Not everything has to be delivered to products. Put “Virtual Coffee Chats” on your agenda. These casual calls of 15 minutes with colleagues after the cooler of the office and helping you to stay connected than weak messages.

How effectively communicate when you work remotely

Tip: embrace speech nuts

I type everything that is more than a few sentences. A quick speech note (via Slack, Voxer or WhatsApp) can clean up things faster and add warmth. In this way they can actually tell what you mean from the tone of your voice, instead of being confused by emojis.

How you can dress for distance work

Tip: take over the “Zoom Mul”

Things at the top, cozy at the bottom. Invest in a few “power tops” (clear colors, sharp collars) so that you look polished on video calls – while your leggings or joggers remain hidden under the desk. I do this all the time.

How you can feel connected when you work remotely

Tip: Start a “third room” ritual

If you are not in the office, life can feel like an endless loop from home and at home …. At home. Break it out by working once a week from a coffee shop or library. This creates a “third space” that stimulates your brain and feels the work fresh. I also think that I am much more productive in a coffee shop.

How you can submit taxes as an external employee

Tip: Make a digital “shoe box”

Set a cloud folder with the ‘Tax’ label. Every time you work something that is related.-Whether it is now a new office chair, software or that coffee shop WiFi is the reception. Come on the tax season, your deductions are organized and you will not panic old e-mails. We use a bookEper to follow everything – I just sent them my statements every month – and it makes it so much easier.

Bonus: Protect your energy

Work remotely makes it easy to fade boundaries. Protect your energy by setting hard “closing rituals” at the end of your working hours: connect the laptop, light a candle, walk a walk or go directly into a training.

What ideas needed? View my list of training hacks that can help you reset between tasks.

Work remotely is more than just another setting: it is a lifestyle shift. With the right routines, boundaries and creative tweaks you can design an external working life that supports your productivity, relationships and overall well -being.

So, tell me, friends: how many of you work from home versus an office environment? Do you use a coworking room or coffee shop?

Let all your productivity hacks fall here too!
