Florian Wirtz has had a slow start of life in Anfield, but he is supported to “claim himself” because he is “not one of those divas”.
A by -product of the price tag of £ 116 million from Wirtz is that he is expected to assimilate immediately in the title -winning side of Liverpool.
It has not been the case, with the 22-year-old who has difficulty making contact with his new teammates, but there have been enough glimpse to suggest that it is only a matter of time.
His deliberate Flick-On to Mo Salah in Chelsea is a good example of this, with the German ruating of the No. 11 finish because he did not beat his first Premier League assisting.
While he is under an intense microscope in Liverpool, he has the support of those in his home country, with the legend and the current German FA director Rudi Voller who tells Sky90 that he is not someone to sulk.
“I know he is not one of those divas in his position that stands down with their heads if they are not passed on three times,” said Voller, via Bullet.

“Florian is not the case. He is not only an extraordinary football player, he also has a great character.
“He will give everything from the first to the last moment, always move forward. He also has incredible current statistics. He will claim himself.”
More pertinent underlines fuller a point that much outside Liverpool’s four walls seem to forget that it takes time to develop a relationship and connection with a new team.
Not to mention the fact that the entire team has also undergone important changes and finds his feet as a unit.
“The big difference is: at Bayer Leverkusen, despite the individual quality of the other players, he was always wanted,” Voller explained further.
“Players such as Granit Xhaka, Alejandro Grimaldo or Robert Andrich certainly performed the game. But the moment Florian made himself available, he always got the ball. Even as a young guy he was already the chef.
“I deliberately viewed some Liverpool games with him. He does an incredible amount of work, runs a lot, makes a lot of sprints and also goes deep.
“But he is not played in the way he was used to at Leverkusen or with the national team. That is something that must be developed in weeks and months.”
It will click for Wirtz and Liverpool, but until that time patience is needed and the no. 7 apparently has the character needed to navigate his heavy start.
