The dashboard ended with an insufficient record of 56-74, which placed them fifth of the six teams in the South Division of the South Atlantic League, and the worst club (although in a nearest with Charlotte) in the White SOX system. The Run differential of Winston-Salem was -49, which gave them an expected record of 60-70. Of the 12 teams in the South Atlantic League, the dashboard is in fifth place in scored points (580) only allowed 11th in runs (629).
In general it was not a great year for this team, but there were not many top perspectives that were given a considerable amount of playing time with the dashboard. As a result, the under -average record was expected.
Pat Leyland, 33, managed the dashboard, and this was his first season with the team. Leyland managed the Cannon Ballers in 2023 and 2024, and at that time Kannapolis had a record of 137-125. Leyland is the son of Hall-of-Famer Jim Leyland, a former White Sox coach known for his term of office at the 2006-2013 Tigers.
Outfielder and elite prospect Broading Montgomery22, had a nice season and the majority came with the dashboard. In 69 games with Winston-Salem, Montgomery placed an excellent sloping line of .260/.348/.445 (135 WRC+). Montgomery opened the year with Kannapolis and he was promoted to Winston-Salem after placing a 149 WRC+ in 18 games. After Montgomery was promoted to Birmingham on July 29, his performance did not work and had a 132 WRC+ in 34 games at the higher level. MLB Pipeline has Montgomery at number 1 in the White Sox Top 30 rankings and no. 32 among all prospects.
Geral Perez20, made a nice splash for the dashboard and placed a .244/.315/.448 (124 WRC+) in 125 games, all with Winston-Salem. In 2024 the young second Honkman/Shortstop had a 120 WRC+ in 105 games, all in class A, so he is progressing well. Perez also had some bad luck on balls, because his Babip was only .271. Perez led the dashboard in Thuis Runs (22), RBIs (70) and Hits (117). Perez has also stolen 10 bases in 13 attempts, so he has a variety of tools. Well done to pear in his solid season, and he seems ready to take another step forward. While this season is ending, Perez number 19 is in the top 30 White Sox Prospect Rankings of MLB Pipeline.
Among players with at least 300 barriers with the dashboard this season, outfielder Samuel Zavala21, was no. 2 in Ops (.732), with only Perez behind. Zavala played 119 games, all with the dashboard, and he showed a significant improvement compared to 2024, also with the dashboard. Zavala raised its slash line from .187/.340/.301 (97 WRC+) to .254/.360/.372 (122 WRC+) in 2025 last season. Zavala also swept 18 base in 26 attempts, because his fixed speed makes him valuable on the bases and in the field. Zavala plays all outfield positions, but he got the most playing time in the middle. MLB Pipeline gives him a 55 arm rating and a 50 glove, and he kept the fort nicely in the middle. Zavala decides this season at number 28 in the White Sox Prospect Rankings of MLB Pipeline.
Infielder Alec Makarewicz25, spent most of the season in Winston-Salem, where he made a solid contribution. The majority of his playing time was at first base, but he also spent quite a bit of time in third place. In 110 matches with the dashboard, Makarewicz placed a .228/.301/.390 (105 WRC+) sloping line, launched 11 gayers and drove in 61. Makarewicz was also efficient on the bases, steeled 10 bases without ever being caught.
Due to the lack of run prevention, there is not much to discuss on the pitching side, but there were some clear places.
After struggling with the dashboard in 2024, Tanner McDougal22, had a huge year and stimulated itself to the number 7 Spot MLB Pipeline’s White Sox Prospect Rankings. Under pitchers with more than 50 innings for the dashboard, McDougal led the way with a 3.28 ERA in 57 2/3 frames, and his FIP (3.53) was not much higher. Unbelievable, McDougal was even better during his 55 2/3 innings after he was promoted to the barons, placed a 10.23 ERA and a 2.76 FIP.
In terms of ERA under Dash-Pitchers with at least 50 innings, McDougal finished with a paper thin lead Christian Opor21, which placed a 3.31 ERA and a 4.05 FIP in 65 1/3 innings. Opor generated many Whiffs, on average 11.3 strikeouts per nine. Oppor is just behind McDougal in the White Sox Prospect ranking list of MLB Pipeline, where the season is packed at number 8.
Then on that era was Leaderboard Reliever Phil Fox22, who threw 59 2/3 innings over 44 relief performances. During those innings, Fox supplied an ERA of 3.47 and a 2.86 FIP.
Frankeli Arias22, threw 88 2/3 innings, which was in second place in the team. All his innings were with the dashboard, ending with a 3.76 ERA and a 4.43 FIP.
Lucas Gordon23, made a solid contribution to the start rotation and placed an ERA of 3.96 and a 4.16 FIP in 86 1/3 innings. After spending the majority of the season in Winston-Salem, Gordon was promoted to Birmingham, where he was even better (2.11 ERA, 2.06 FIP in 21 1/3 frames).
Jake Bockenstedt25, threw 103 innings for the dashboard to lead the team. The songs from Bockenstedt were a mixed bag because he ended with a 4.81 ERA, but his FIP (3.87) was much better. Bockenstedt all allowed eight home runs (0.70 per nine), which went a long way in terms of limiting damage.
