Ugh. You only want to update your Windows PC. Easy, right? But then – Bam! The problem solver of the Windows Update gets stuck. You are staring at that loading wheel … forever. Don’t worry. You are not alone, and yes – you can repair it!
Why does it get stuck?
The tool for solving problems with the update is supposed to find problems and resolve with regard to Windows updates. But sometimes It Become the problem. Why?
- Your PC has damaged files.
- Windows Update services are not performed properly.
- Software conflicts things.
- Too many cache data builds up.
Now let’s get your PC out of trouble!
1. First – wait a bit
Yes, seriously. Sometimes the problem solver needs a few minutes to do his thing. If it is stuck for another minute or two, give it some time.
But if it’s 10 minutes or more? Time to take action.
2. Start your PC again
Simple but magical. Click on that restart button and give it a new start.
Often that is enough to clean up things. Try the problem solver again after restarting.
3. Perform the problem solver in safe mode
Some apps and services can block the problem solution process. Start in safe mode to keep things clean and calm.
Here is how:
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
msconfigAnd press Enter. - Go to the Boot Tab.
- Account Safe start and click OK.
- Restart your PC.
Try the Windows Update problem solver in safe mode again.
4. Show the Windows Update Cache
Sometimes the update ecache gets stuck. The erases forces Windows to renew the update process.
Follow these steps carefully:
- Press Windows + X and choose Assignment prompt (admin).
- Type the following and press Enter after each:
net stop wuauservnet stop bits
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistributionnet start wuauservnet start bits
Now re -execute the problem solver. Hopefully it slides like butter!
5. Check Windows Update Services
Some background services must be performed for updates to work.
Do this:
- Open Run of Windows + R.
- Type
services.mscAnd press Enter. - Scroll down and find these services:
- Windows -update
- Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)
- Cryptographic services

6. Use SFC and Disp tools
Scan these tools on damaged or missing system files.
Open the command prompt as admin and then type:
sfc /scannow- Press Enter and let it end.
- If that doesn’t help, try:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
These tools take time but do wonders.
7. Try to update manually
If the problem solver fails, go old -fashioned. You can download the update directly from the Microsoft update -catalog.
Look up the update code (start with KB), download it and install it yourself.
8. Still stuck? Consider a repair installation
If everything else fails, a repair installation can be your hero. This keeps track of your files but reinstalls all Windows system files.
Use the civil servant Windows Media Creation Tool To do this. It’s not as scary as it sounds!
Last thoughts
Don’t let a fixed problem solver ruin your day. With a few simple movements – or okay, maybe a few advanced – your PC is back on track.
To remind: Patience + persistence = problem solved.
Get those updates now installed and grab a cookie for yourself. You deserve it!
