Post time is set at 6pm, with 12 bars at the top, also with the Open Trot and a PEISHOA pace as part of a full midweek offering.
The spotlight shines brightest in race 11, a $4,450 Fillies & Mares pace, with Acefortyfour Dome getting the rail as Jason Hughes rides for trainer Ashley Gamester. The Up The Credit mare has been sharp in recent races, but has not achieved a victory in recent months and is ideal to control the race from the start. Thealprincess is a major threat from post 2 for Gilles Barrieau and trainer Ron Matheson, while Shake N Blake lines up from post 3 with Ken Murphy as part of a stable entry for Jennifer Doyle, including Lady Devine (managed by David Dowling) from post 4.
Windemere Saddy (Marc Campbell) completes a deep field for trainer Saul Lanigan after winning her last two races. Driver Campbell is currently $2,468 shy of $10 million in career earnings heading into Tuesday’s program.
The Post Time Picks put Thealprincess in a winning position.
“Thealprincess has raced great since moving to the island and has a few wins under her belt. Pulls an inside post this week and Barrieau will be keeping a close eye on her from the start to ensure she’s at the top of the podium.”
The Open Trot takes center stage in race 8 for a cash prize of $4,200. Buckhead Ridge (Marc Campbell) is the favorite from post 5 from Landon Campbell’s barn for owner Brady Doyle with a three-race win on the line. Other top challengers include Fight Song (Hughes) from post 6, Whole Nother (Colin Sheppard) from post 2 and New Legacy (David Dowling) with rail control.
Race 1 kicks off the card with the $3,150 PEISHOA Pace for first pacers. Nobel Hanover starts from the rail with Brady Sweet listed to ride for trainer Jeff Holmes and owner Tommy Collings after a narrow defeat in his last. JJ Leona (Corey MacPherson) was victorious that day and is back in class for trainer Joe Baxter from post 5.
