Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts spoke about the status of All-Star catcher Will Smith for game 2 of the NLDs against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Smith provides a hairline fracture in his hand since 3 September, when a fault ball hit him against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was out of the line -up for six days and returned to the line -up on September 9, but landed on the injured list after responding the injury during that competition.

Smith came across the Phillies during the fifth inning in Game 1, Pinch hit Catcher Ben Rortvedt, who has been missed his replacement for most of the time. Smith hit 0-out-2 with a hit by pitch in Saturday’s game.
“Still in the air,” Roberts said about Smith’s status. “We can perform the same playbook, or we could start it. But for me, I just see a little how he arrives tomorrow.”

In anticipation of game 1, Smith stated that he was almost at full power and “could now go nine innings and could be good.”
As good as Rortvedt has since arrived for Smith, the addition of an All-Star and one of the best regular season artists of the Dodgers would be a huge boost for LA.
Smith hit .296 during the regular season and hit 17 gays with 61 RBIs during the 110 games he played.

The Dodgers achieved a huge 1 win on the road against the Phils on Saturday, which caused a comeback in the late inning to fight back from a 3-0 deficit. They get a day of rest on Sunday for their second road game of the series, in which Wild Card Series Game 1 -Starter Blake Snell makes its second start of the late season.
Game 2 of the NLDS starts on Monday at 3:08 pt.
