NHL Rumors: Could Pete DeBoer Find His Way to Buffalo?
I mean, imagine if this goes on for another year, and he’s in the game now. And does he want to leave? Who knows what’s happening in New York? It’s still very early, it’s October 15th, and you and I were talking about Carter Hart. So where are we with what could happen with Vegas and him and Artemi Panarin and two topics that are very current?
Dave Pagnotta: “Yeah, I think with Panarin, pending unrestricted free agent, there’s an opportunity for him to potentially be at the top of the UFA league, just like he was when he first signed with the Rangers. I think a lot of it depends on how their season goes. If they’re a bubble team, and bubble by wildcard standards, if they’re a bubble team I think they’ll seriously look at it if they don’t have a bubble team.” indication that he is willing to stay there, or at least sign an extension.
I think if they’re a little confused, they’ll be, or worse, they might seriously consider moving him if he’s not willing to commit there. And maybe they also want to go in a completely different direction, if it doesn’t work out, and it doesn’t work for him. Well, you might want to tweak your roster a bit and pick up assets by moving him because, again, with teams with extra cap space and more wiggle room, there might be a bit more of a game plan for him, or, excuse me, a market for him.
So depending on how the Rangers plan this, they may be able to cash in on solid asset generation. Like I said, there’s still a chance he’ll be one of the top players, if not the top guy, in his free agent pool come July, because we know (Adrian) Kempe wants to stay in LA. And those talks are still on hold for now, but they will meet again.
NHL Rumors: Ottawa Senators offer Shane Pinto an eight-year deal
The Sabers and Alex Tuch have also hit the pause button on their negotiations. Another tough start to the season for Buffalo. Let’s cool our jets a bit and see if we can get them back on track. Negotiations will resume later, but right now those talks are on hold in Buffalo. They are put on the back burner. So let’s see how these things play out.
Martin Necas in Colorado, we know he’s looking for a big ticket, but Artemi Panarin, if he’s having a good season and the Rangers are in a bit of disarray, I wouldn’t be shocked if they start seriously asking for that player.”
