The Chicago Blackhawks organized the Minnesota Wild on Friday 3 October. It was the fifth preseason match for the Hawks and the sixth and final game for the wild before the regular season starts. Before this match, the Blackhawks 2-2 were in the preseason, including a 4-1 win over Sunday 28 September. The game was 2-2-1 on the other side.

The Blackhawks and De Wild have both dressed, which will probably be close to their opening night schedule for this competition. On the Chicago side, defender Alex Vlasic was out with a lower injury. De Wild missed veteran Vooruit Matten Zuccarello and defender Jonas Brodin to injuries.

It appears that De Wild scored three Power Play goals, while the Blackhawks did not score in a 3-2 loss. It was the Power Play that lasted the day for the wild. This is what happened.

Summary

The Blackhawks opened the score in the first period with a goal from Frank Nazar. He was assisted by his usual line sizes, Tyler Bertuzzi and Teuvo Teravainen. It was a nice game with the second line and the fourth goal of Nazar in the preseason.

Less than four minutes later, the Blackhawks added to their lead. This time it was Captain Nick Foligno who blended a shot by the young defender Sam Rinzel. The secondary assist went to Nolan Allan. It was Foligno’s first goal of the preseason, but Rinzel’s third assist.

At the start of the second period, De Wild received a Power Play from a stumbling sentence from Andre Burakovsky from Blackhawks. The capital letters, where Vladimir Tarasenko scored on the benefit of the man. He was assisted by Matt Boldy and Zeev Buium during the piece.

The Blackhawks came in more criminal problems and Joel Eriksson Ek found the back of the net on another Power Play. He was assisted by Boldy and Buium, the same as on the goal of Tarasenko.

The second frame took place with even more penalties on both sides. But the wild were the only ones who seemed to be able to score on their power play. This goal was attributed to Ryan Hartman (assists by Kirill Kaprizov and Marco Rossi), but it actually went in the skate of defender Wyatt Kaiser.

Despite 16 shots on goal in the third period and the goalkeeper Spencer Knight pulled with more than two minutes to go, the Blackhawks could not get the equalizer. Final score Wild 3 and the Blackhawks 2.

What is the following

The Blackhawks have another exhibition game on Saturday (October 4), where they will host the St Louis Blues. But earlier this week, head coach Jeff Blashill indicated that it will be more bubble players who are trying to make the team than the regular starters. The Hawks will compete against the defender Florida Panthers in Sunrise for their first regular season match on Tuesday 7 October.

In the meantime, the wild head is to St. Louis to face the blues for their season debut from 2025-26 on Thursday 9 October.
