Tom Fazio designed harbor course to reopen on 26 October with again conceived Greens and Bunkering
Wild Dunes Resort-a destination of Hyatt on Isle of Palms, SC, proudly announces the completed transformation of his iconic harbor course designed by Tom Fazio. With an investment of $ 9.5 million in strategic improvements in the field of golf course design and sustainable infrastructure, the project, which started in March 2025, will be completed at the end of October.
The harbor course has been a center of the Wild Dunes 36-hole golf experience for more than four decades. The Fazio Design team, Heritage connects the construction course and the Wild Dunes Resort Golf Course Agronomy Team worked together to rebuild and expand all 18 Greens to improve the playability, variety and unique challenge of every golf hole. Various bunkers of the course have been reformed and moved to accommodate modern driving distances and play areas, are extensive on several holes to improve the shot values and strategy.
All TEE -Boxes of the Harbor Course have been rebuilt, leveled and, in some cases, extended while the irrigation system has been replaced to optimize the grass conditions and water consumption. Holes closest to the Intercoastale Waterweg that runs along the track were raised a few feet to curb flood risks and several golf cart bridges have also been restored.
“We are very happy with the improvements of the port course that have increased the overall experience for our players,” says director of Golf, Jeff Minton. “When the Harbor Course Ropens in Late October, Golfers Can Look Forward to Newly Designed Putting Surfaces That Will Challenge Their Skills, Smoother Upgraded Golf Cart Paths, And Strategically Placed Bunkers Thought Designs. WHENTERFY WHENTERFFORY Left Course (Tom Fazio’s First Solo Golf Course Design And, To This Day, His Only Seaside Design), Wild Dunes Resort is now a must-play 36-Hole Coastal Golf destination.
November marks a new era for the port course

Wild Dunes Leadership, Golf and Hospitality Staffs is organizing a grand reopening event on the Harbor Course on 13 November, with T-shirt times for the renovated PAR-70 layout on October 26, 2025.
This project reflects the continuous use of Wild Dunes Resort and its ownership partners, Lowe and Dart interests, to continuously improve the famous ownership of the Oceanfront. By increasing its facilities, members and guest experiences, the resort is again committed to providing an exceptional destination for both visitors and the local community.
“We can’t wait for golfers to experience the improved character of the harbor course with the extensive and redesigned well surfaces and a golf course that fits beautifully with the country while a playable, approachable design is presented that golfers can test of any skill level at fun and intriguing ways,” said Fazio Design Bryan Bowers. “Wild Dunes is useful because it represents the early era of Tom Fazio’s design career and passes the test of time with a sustainable and typical golf experience with a low country.”
A revitalized, constantly disturbed coastal destination

Recognized as one of the top 10 resorts in the south by Conde Nast Traveler, the Resort and his partners have invested more than $ 150 million in real estate renovations since 2021. These investments include the debut of the Sweetgrass Inn, a stunning hotel with 153 rooms with a 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art Spa, 30,000 square base of the meeting and a 3,000-four-piece Pole cover. Wild Dunes Resort expanded its sports offer earlier in 2025 with the addition of two new tennis courts and six pickleball rights, which focus on the growing demand and popularity of the sport.
