There is no one who makes putters who resemble the Putters Lab who makes golf, and the popularity of the company’s product is certainly something to notice.
LAB has conquered the Puttermarkt Stormerderhand since the launch in 2018 and has developed a cult-like supporters, even of people who do not like the appearance of the putter. But the results speak for themselves.
The company has already picked up several tour wins and has a fairly consistent number of professionals with the help of their putters on the PGA Tour, including JJ Spaun, who recorded the first big title with a zero torque Putter, the category laboratory.
In this week of Golf’s episode, co-host Johnny Wunder revealed that a Lab Golf DF3, a putter he calls ‘The Mushroom’, recently lives in his bag.

“I took this mushroom, thinking as if, I’m just going to hit 15 puts with it, so I can say I tried it,” Wunder said. “And suddenly I feel a God. You know, the ball that rolls well, left to right is great, right-left is great, straight puts are great. I’m something like that:” Am I really that guy now? Do I really have the laboratory mushroom? “
Lab has made a unique journey by developing a supporter in the recreational game before it broke in the highest level of sport, and that loyal supporters is what the company gives a lot of flexibility to try new things, such as shapes, inserts, colors and whatever. The founder of the company, Sam Hahn, discussed this with fully equipped co-host Jake Morrow during a Lab Golf Media event in Cresswell, Oregon last week.
“He spoke about it, it is actually, as, moving to the future, the industry and the consumer who has acceptance that Lab may not look ideal, she gives a lot of runway,” said Morrow. “It gives them a lot of freedom to try things that other OEMs cannot try, because it will simply be unsuitable, which is super cool.
“I think he is absolutely right about that.”

In a sense, Morrow explained, the fundamental success of Lab with an unconventional -looking product enables them to try every look, knowing that their consumers cannot care, as long as the performance.
“I think that is a huge advantage that they have is that they can move forward and they can tinker, they can try, they can experiment and they can release experimental things,” he continued. “And the consumer is ready that he may not look fantastic, but if its function works as they say it works, then everyone will be happy in the same way as the Laboratory offer so far.”
