Why the 2025 Lexus LC500 Cabriolet is the best that Lexus offers

Driving must be fun. And it can be, and it was certainly for me in the right conditions with the right car. Let me put the stage. An open country road full of turns. The scent of rural air on a perfectly warm summer evening near Schemering. Some great tunes shine on the radio. And to make it more fun, is the top on this convertible.

Time to go full with the throttle and to experience the turns in the 471 hp 2025 Lexus LC500-a car that makes driving fun, with or without the aforementioned scenario. But that exact scenario was one of my first journeys in the LC500, which was a whole way to start the glorious week.

There is nothing like a drop -top coupé with a growling V8

Cabriolet is the way to go for maximum pleasure

I am a huge convertible fan. It may be because I am oh-so-close to the middle of life, or the fact that I have almost no hair. But nothing goes down above the top, the open road, the sky is blowing. With the top down, the noise is not as bad as you think, at least at lower speeds. On the highway it is a bit loud and intrusive.

With the soft-top design of the Cabriolet, engineers enabled themselves to concentrate on accentuating the slim lines of the convertible without significant intruders in the trunk and cabin space that can be supplied with a heavier, more extensive hard top. It has an innovative folding mechanism that includes a Tonneau cover for when it is stored. According to Lexus, the movement of the folding mechanism is inspired by the three -step movement of the Japanese calligraphy: ink brush to paper; movement to the right; Stopping the ink brush.

The process to drop the top is fairly simple and seamless. And Lexus is doing well to hide the mechanism for it. You have to lift a hidden room to reveal the lever up and down. My tester was iridium, a new silvery color for this model year with a red -colored soft top.

V8 -Power and Performance remain unparalleled

What good is that open road and that top down if the car is not fun to drive? The Lexus LC500, with his Natural Aspirated V8 Engine, offers a master class in fun-to-drive. The 5.0-liter V8 flows 471 hp and 398 pound-foot torque. The double exhaust is well coordinated for making a fun, visceral motorcycle.

Looking at the Engineering, the engine tuning was interesting. According to information from Lexus, the motorcycle pulses are naturally worn by an aperture in a sound pipe that does not wear the sounds of the V8, the air itself, in the cabin to improve its rumbling (similar to the system used in the Lexus LFA). To further improve the aggressive tone of the exhaust and augment performance of the engine, a computer-controlled valve balances the fine line between optimizing the rear pressure, exhaust tint and volume with higher motorcycle rates.

The LC500 has rear -wheel drive and an automatic transmission with 10 gears. Both contribute to the general pleasure. The LC500 is a self -assured sports car that can go against many of its rivals. There is a less powerful hybrid supply that seems to miss the goal in so many ways, although the fuel consumption stretches from 18 to 29 combined MPG.

A tailor -made build makes every LC special

I noticed this sign in the Lexus LC500 that said custom made build. This is a package with which owners can adjust the vehicle with a mix of performance and styling components, including:

• Wheels

• Spoiler

• Roof

• Outdoor/interior finish and colors

The LC 500 custom made build is further distinguished by a unique interior bath and includes a certificate of authenticity printed on Japanese washi paper and signed and stamped by LC Chief Engineer Yasushi Muto. That alone makes the LC500 even more special. Other adjustment options for the LC 500-Cabriolet are 21-inch forged alloy wheels with a completely black finish, dark chrome painted finish, a carbon screens plate and a neck heating.

Lexus LC invites you to experience the big exit

There is a nice story about PT Barnum where he had a sign that led curious visitors to the “big exit”. Egress is of course a fan for Exit. This story relates to the LC500 in the sense that this low-profile sports car can be a challenge to go out.

My fifty -year -old knees found the LC500 in and out to be a bit of a challenge. It was still worthwhile, but the doors swing wide on the LC500, which means that you have to be aware of parking spaces to give yourself enough space to get in and out. Sliding in the LC500 is easier than coming out. It is almost suitable for you when you enter. Although people for more than six feet may feel a bit narrowed with the registration. On my 5’9 “frame, with the registration, it was even a bit claustrophobic.

Refined comfort (for two) is standard

The LC500 drips with luxury and refinement inside. The special accents are everywhere. The quality finish of the upholstery, trim materials and detailing reflects the Takumi vocationalist and the attention to detail for which Lexus is known. For this model year, the interior chair panel is now also finished with a geometric texture, which reflects stylistic elements that are currently seen on the door panel upholstery. Leather-trim interior color schemes for the LC 500 Cabriolet include black, roasted caramel and Rioja red. My tester was the attractive Rioja Red, who looked great with the red soft top. It really all tied it together.

Both of the rear and cargo space are very limited

Yes, there is technically a rear seat if you want to call it that. For my money, Lexus would be served well to turn the LC500 into an official vehicle with two seats and eliminate that rear seat. It is one of the smallest I have seen when it comes to legroom. I don’t know any adults who would like to spend some time there, despite how much fun it is to drive in this convertible. My wife is less than five feet long and she didn’t even have enough legroom.

Moreover, it is a small complaint, but still a legitimate one. There is only one cup holder. The mechanism to open the roof covers valuable real estate where another cup holder could go. When it comes to load space, it is clearly a premium. There is very little storage space inside and with the convertible of the top mechanism there is even less space in the trunk. The coupé version has a small hull with 5.4 cubic foot, but the convertible has even less on 3.4 cubic foot. You can throw an overnight bag or a few groceries, but that’s it. Again, sacrifices must be made for the sensation of driving this convertible, and the freight room is one of them, just like passenger comfort.

Director focused on his absolute best

Everything about the 2025 Lexus LC500 in convertible form is about the driver. Every knock about this car is related to non-driving things or complaints about passengers. This is a beautiful car of solo-driving car, or even let someone drive with you on a hunting gun.
