Genoa -Sonline in olives oiL is a product that I started to buy in the early days of my blog, after I fell in love with the taste of tuna packed in olive oil. And my love for tuna in olive oil started with an interesting Italian tuna salad I saw on a friends blog, far back in the early days of blogging.

I absolutely loved the taste of the tuna in olive oil, which was so different from the kind of tuna that my mother bought when I grew up in a family of ten children! And for a while I bought imported Italian tuna, which of course was delicious.

But one day I was shopping in a now closed Salt Lake supermarket and I saw Genova-no-Olive oil on the shelf. I bought something and was so happy with the taste, which I thought it was quite similar to the imported Italian tuna that I had bought. Since then I have always had some of this tuna -packed tuna in my pantry.

Why do I love this tuna in olive oil?

  • Of course the main reason is why I like this type of tuna and the Genova brand is the taste! This tuna has a mild, pleasant taste that I think is wonderful from the can and I like to use it in different recipes!
  • I like it so much that this brand tuna in olive oil in two sizes can be cans. If I just want some tuna to go on a salad or make one tuna melt, I use a look of three ounce. If I make a recipe that uses more tuna, I use one or two of the 5 oz. Tin.
  • Tuna in olive oil has zero carbohydrates and sugars and one ounce has 2.9 grams of fat, 8.3 grams of protein, 13 mg. of cholesterol and 15 mg. of sodium. And of course it is gluten -free.
  • Tuna contains many omega-3 fatty acids who are beneficial for the health of the heart.
  • Genova-noise comes in different varieties in different price ranges, and this brand uses in the wild tuna.
  • Genova -Tonel was arranged well then Tasting table compared to Tuna.

Where do I buy Genova Tuna Packed in olive oil:

For years I could find this delicious tuna in my favorite store. But a few years ago I could no longer find it in one of the stores where I shop, so I started buying Genova -Tone in olive oil (affiliated link) from Amazon.com. I always keep this in my pantry, so I buy 8 cans at the same time, and from Amazon it comes to just a little more than $ 2.00 per can, which is a great price compared to the Italian tuna that I used to buy. This is definitely a product that I will buy for a long time.

What kind of recipes do I make the most with tuna in olive oil?

I use tuna in salads such as Nicoise tuna salad, tuna avocado -tomato salad and tuna -filled avocado. I love tuna macaroni salad with green olives (made with fiberglass light elbows.) And I am a big fan of tuna saladlawraps.
