Viewers are too time-poor to view SBS shows without knowing whether they are repetitions or not.
I don’t know how you are like, but I think I’m too much time to view something to realize only halfway, I have seen it before.
I also want to know when a new season of a favorite show starts, so that I can set aside time. That is why I try to emphasize such information TVT Readers through programming messages, daily choices and the calendar of the site (view it if you have never used it before).
It is therefore quite important that such information is communicated via guide and EPG info.
Although EPG’s info about ABC, seven, nine and 10 repetitions, it is a different story with SBS.
As far as I can see, it is not available on Smart TV EPGs, nor online guides from third parties, nor even the SBS Official site.
It is available in printed guides and in small text in their supplied PDFs that are hosted here under Sitegids. But it is disappointing that it does not filter to electronic EPGs.
I decided to raise it with the good people at SBS.
“SBS’s EPG is integrated in SBS on request, where the public generally does not require repeated delivery information, given the nature of streaming and the width of our VOD catalog,” a spokesperson said.
But then a victory …
“We recognize the value of repeated delivery information for viewers on our linear platforms and have planned updates for our EPG in FY26 to record this, in addition to closed captions and information about audio description.”
A late but good move.
