Ten years later, Tom Gleeson and Anthony Albanese get to work on their second ever Hard Chat.
EXCLUSIVE:
ABC’s Tom Gleeson has taken up an offer from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to reunite for a Hard Chat interview, ten years after they met in 2015.
At the time, the Albanian was shadow minister of Infrastructure and Transport, but he came up with the idea of a reunion in ten years: 2025.
“Ten years from now, you’ll undoubtedly still be here,” Albanese said.
“I’m going to host Charlie’s show,” Gleeson replied.
“It’s going to be your show. You can have me there…” Albanese said.
“I’ll decide on the day,” Gleeson insisted. “Thanks for chatting. Difficult!”
Fast forward to 2025 and Albo told it TV tonight, “If Tom can bring a team to Canberra we can try to organize a special edition of Hard Chat for those old enough to remember.”
They both did that last week.
“HardChat is back!” Gleeson said.
“Ten years ago, Anthony Albanese did Hard Chat The Weekly.
“He said we should do it again in ten years, and we did! I retired from the industry five years ago, but I thought the first-ever Hard Chat with a sitting Prime Minister was worth coming back for. I was worried I was getting rusty, but it turns out that contempt for authority figures is quite natural.
‘I’ll be right back The Annual on December 17!”
Don’t mention it…
