Hey there, Brett writes tonight and tomorrow’s updates. This is a mixed bag, with the expected results (Bham Cruises, Knights Flop, Kanny not sure, win0n-salem oh please). But a short message that because of our new polling software, some of our updates they have bypassed. Melissa and Kristina, troopers they are, don’t have that. But for the next two nights I will do a hybrid, calling the top and lower players, but at the end, you can vote on the best and worst of the night.
Nashville Sounds 5, Charlotte Knights 4 ((Status box))
It was a disastrous match for the battery of the Knights (59-70), when ex-MLB clear place Jonathan Cannon was turned and took the loss while catcher Adam Hackenberg fell victim to seven stolen base against only one prisoner runner. In addition, Hackenberg and Jacob Amaya put a top of the first rally killing in his mark, both throwing the bases loaded to end the inning. A game that could have been blown open – and the pressure picked up from Cannon, who certainly wonders whether his best hope for 2026 is the opening day for Knights – rather vibrant.
The knights left the first bats with a 2-0 lead, thanks to a batter who used bags full, Jacob Gonzalez:
There was good news, not with the bats but the pen. Cannon gave all runs at stake (five, four earned), which means that we had clean slates of four other Charlotte arms. That includes the rehabilitation of Dan Altavilla, pronouncing himself healthy with the six fastest pitches of the night, all 96 MPH+.

Birmingham Barons 7, Knoxville Smokies 1
What a treat is it that the barons (75-49) can routinely remove the two (if not ranking) top starters in the system on the same day. It was again a devastating good piggyback start for Tanner McDougal and Tyler Schweitzer. Schweitzer, the Southpaw second arm in the coupling, is usually in line for a victory, and tonight was no different:
And while McDougal’s Dominance and 2025 Turnaround Has Captured More Headlines (And Likely Sees Him Regarded More as Early-2026 Rankings Trickle Out, Schweitzer Has Had An Extraordinary Runtings. – While Schweitzer has yet to give an earned run in Birmingham this year, that’s just 36 2/3 innings; this season a pretty bad run of 50 innings with Charlotte, and in fact ends with his relegation Back to Bham. All in all, the current scoreless run of Schweitzer 33 Innings, which is 32 2/3 is still a final in Birmingham Plus on July 13 in Charlotte. If you want to consider it a double-a scoreless streak, that is all 26 2/3 of the Tyler Plus season the last 1 1/3 innings that he threw for the barons in 2024, a total of 38 innings.
No matter how you do it, Schweitzer is hot. So hot, even, that you are wondering or, as a grid expansion of 1 September schedule expansion or another time in September (remember that the Sean Burke came in a few games last September to pitch, not like the two players raised on 1 September, but later in the month) get Shane Mcdougalje and or SchaWeitzer Year, as a thank you for a murderer year, as a thank you theory for a murderer and a thank you theory for a murderer year. Rotation place.
The Barons attack hit the Smokies to submit and forced a position player who surrendered to just 5-0 (Catcher Casey Opitz took the eighth, with Knoxville only 5-0 and two on the tab).

Rome Emperors 2, Winston-Salem Dash 1
Hey man, it’s the dashboard (52-70), what can you say?
Lucas Gordon was rejected and fell on 1-10 largely based on the inability of his attack to do something in his starts (3.96 ERA, you think?). In two matches this season of 21 Starts, Gordon allowed more than three earned runs to be, which could mean a game that he clearly announced with a loss. The LEFTty has already received a fairly rough deal in the SOX org (2.79 career era in the organization of more than 51 competitions, and exactly one of them thrown at a level higher than high-a), now this.
All in all, according to Dash standards this was not a bad game. But it was a typical game.

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 10, Salem Red Sox 7
Kanny (58-66) had a roller coaster game and broke out to a 5-0 lead in the first before he kicked the game to the Red Sox, 7-6. Oh wait, that’s not the final score! Hey Hey, the CBS stormed four for four on the bottom of the eighth and then closed Salem for the victory.
The cannon ballers were efficient with the bats because they changed nine hits into 10 runs. That said, seven of the nine protections came from just three batter: Jordan Sprinkle, Ely Brown and James Taussig. The arms were a bit rougher, with Luis Reyes and Jesus Mendez (first saving of the year) good, Hale Sims OK and Blake Shepherdson and Liam Paddack are questioning the game.
Ballers MVP
