Rochester Red Wings 12, Charlotte Knights 7 (Statcast Box)
The knights (51-56) were undone by another bad show of their pitching staff while the Red Wings Charlotte’s Hurlers hammered for 12 points on 13 hits. The attack started early and took a 1-0 lead in the first thanks to a Tim Elko-Double and a sacrificial battle by Korey Lee, who placed Vinny Capra, who had worked a walk. After they had fell behind shortly, the knights are struggling back to tie things 3-3 in the fourth, with a two-bagger from Vinny Capra and a base hit by Will Robertson.
Bryan Ramos launched a solo jacket in the fifth to bind it again at 4-4, and the knights would continue to throw away and score three points between the seventh and eighth innings, but it was not enough because they left 15 runners in the game. Dru Baker had a beautiful day on the plate and hit 3-out-4 with an RBI and a stolen base, while Capra reached the base four times.
The performance of Charlotte’s pitching staff can be honestly described as nightmare -like, because they surrender a steady electric runs during the game. The starter was shaken for two bombs and three points in the second inning before he was drawn. The bullpen could not keep it together either. A five-run sixth inning, marked by a three-run dinger, turned out to be a murderer. Seven different pitchers took the hill, but only two of them, Cam Vlaader and Caleb Freeman, escaped without allowing at least one count. The Hurlers also issued nine free passes and proven unable to support an attack that showed more than enough fight by scoring seven times and generating 14 hits.

Birmingham Barons 3, Rocket City Trash Pandas 1
After giving up a solo jacket in the fourth, the bats of the barons (62-40) came to life at the top of the sixth. A series of back-to-back-to-back singles by Calvin Harris, Matt Hogan and William Bergolla fixed the game, causing the bump of Bergolla a throw error that produced the runners. Ryan Galanie then delivered the decisive blow with a two-run two-bagger and set up the barons 3-1.
Southpaw Shane Murphy held the game close by, bounced back after the fourth inning Dinger and earned his eighth victory of the season. The 24-year-old has thrown five or more frames in 15 of his 16 starts and has a Southern League-toning 1.64 ERA and 0.82 Whip. The Bullpen by Jordan Mikel, Tyler Davis and Zach Franklin combined to close the Trash Pandas attack for the rest of the game, making them scoreless of the sixth inning. The trio of Relievers Limited Rocket City to just one hit, without walks and 4 ks.

Greenville Drive 4, Winston-Salem Dash 2
The dashboard (39-61) was unable to take advantage of an early 1-0 lead, which fell to the ride. Winston-Salem started strong and was on the board in the first inning when Jeral Perez struck to score Jacob Burke, who had run and stolen both the second and third base. Wes Kath doubled in the third and later scored on a Drake Logan -Single, but the attack then stuck. The dashboard struggled to string all the hits together and generate scoring options while the Drive suppressed the WS bats.
On the hill, starter Jake Bockenstedt ran into problems in the third inning after two fast frames to start the ball game. After a sacrificial fly, things stuck on one each, the drive hit a triple and a single to place three more runs, giving them a lead that they would not give up. The Dash Bullpen performed admirably for the rest of the game, kept the drive attack under control and gave the dashboard the chance to gather. However, the attack was unable to get everything against Greenville’s pitching staff because they were held on only four hits in the game.

Kannapolis 6, Delmarva Shorebirds 3
The attack of the ballers (49-53) exploded in the middle innings and overcame an early shortage to secure a three-game weekend over the Shorebirds. After he got 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Kanny responded in the bottom of the frame. A double from Arxy Hernández and a base hit by Nathan Archer fixed the competition before a line drive from Miguel Santos put the home team in the lead. Jordan scatter the rally from the rally with a ground that gilded another point. They never looked back and added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings with important hits from Hernandez, Ronny Hernandez and a sacrificial fly by Caleb Bonemer.
The pitching staff of the CBS kept strong to keep the leadership. Grant Umberger fought through five innings and yielded the only run of the Shorebirds before he turned the game to the arm shed. Hale Sims and Pierce George were particularly effective and closed Delmarva’s batters in the sixth, seventh and eighth frames. Although the Shorebirds in the ninth two points of Jake Curtis together held, the ballers kept for the victory.
