Where things are with IU basketball’s class of 2026 recruitment efforts

The evaluation periods of July have come and gone and the recruitment efforts of IU basketball for the 2026 class are becoming more in the picture.

Various prospects on the IU basketball 2026 Recruiting Board have already made list loss and planned visits to Bloomington.

Here is an updated look where things are with different prospects that IU offered in the class of 2026:

Dedicated prospects

Prince-Alexander Moody: The 6-foot-4 guard was the first in the rising senior class that announced his promise to the Hoosiers. Alexander-Moody dedicated to Indiana on 27 June.

In the newest 247sports composite rankings for the 2026 class, Moody is the no. 197 -Prasts nationwide.

Indiana is in a group of finalists or visits are planned

Davion Adkins: The 6-foot-9 Adkins announced his six finalists on July 26 and the Hoisiers are in the mix together with Auburn, Houston, Kansas, Rutgers and UCLA.

Adkins, the number 37 player National according to the 247Sports compiled ranking, has planned a visit to Bloomington for the weekend of 13 September.

Latrell Allmond: The 6-foot-8 Allmond (photo), which was recently transferred from John Marshall to Petersburg for his senior season, visited Indiana in June. On July 25, he announced his top nine schools and included De Hoosiers.

The other eight schools on his list are Arizona, Kansas, Maryland, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Virginia.

Allmond, the number 30 player in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, is expected to announce his university decision on his birthday, October 13.

Cole Cloer: The 6-foot-8 wing recently announced its transfer to IMG Academy (FLA.) For its last high school season and has a last eight from Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Uconn and Virginia.

Cloer is considered prospect no. 29 in the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. So far, Cloer has not set a date for an official visit to Bloomington. He made trips to Louisville, Florida, Uconn, North Carolina and Alabama.

Taylen Kinney: The No. 15 Prospect National according to the 247Sports composed rankings, Kinney recently announced its top 12 schools: Arkansas, Auburn, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Oregon, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas and Xavier.

Kinney, a resident of Kentucky who plays at Overtime Elite, is planned to make an official visit to Bloomington at the end of August (29-31).

Miikka Wallin: De Hoosiers are in the top seven schools for wallins, a resident of Finland who attends Compass Prep in Arizona.

The top seven for walls: Arkansas, Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina and NC State. The 6-foot-10 attacker is considered the number 11 player National in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

The next step for walls will set up official visits and De Hoosiers hope to get him on campus this fall.

Marks think about: Ponder, a 6-foot-11, 330-pound center, announced its last seven schools earlier this month.

The seven finalists are Cincinnati, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Miami (FL), Providence and Texas. Ranked if the No. 72 Prospect Nationaal according to the 247Sports composed rankings, still has to make a visit schedule for this autumn audience.

Deron Rippey Jr.: The Elite Point Guard from New Jersey has a list of 12 finalists and has made eight official visits. De Hoosiers are among the finalists and also have an official visit from Rippey Jr. planned.

The list for Rippey Jr. Includes Alabama, Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (FL), North Carolina, NC State, Syracuse, Tennessee and Texas.

Rippey Jr. is planned to visit Bloomington for an official visit on 17-19 October. He is currently ranked as the number 16 player Nationaal according to the 247Sports compiled rankings.

Luigi subo: The 7-foot-3 Suigo was on campus for an official visit in June and will play for KK Mega Basket next season.

A list of schools for Suigo has not been published.

Anthony Thompson: The 6-foot-8 five-star wing has a list of seven finalists and IU is in the mix.

The seven finalists for Thompson are Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Purdue and Texas.

The next step for Thompson will set up visits. He has been on the IU campus several times, after being recruited by the previous coaching staff. Thompson is assessed as the number 8 player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Follow closely

Aiden Derkack: The IU staff closely followed Derkack in July and hopes to get the 6-foot-5 wing on campus this fall for an official visit. At the moment Derkack has not announced a list of a list or a visit schedule. Derkack recently announced that he is switching to Spire Academy in Ohio for his senior season.

Arafan Diane: The 7-foot-1 center had a strong summer for Iowa United and is preparing for its senior season in Iowa United Prep. Diane has a long list of freeers and offers and the next step in his process will reduce his list and plan visits.

Jordan Smith: One of the best prospects in the country, Smith has made a few official visits, but has not cut his list so far. Given the strong tires of Kenny Johnson with team takeover, he is a name to keep checking while the summer ends.

Ethan Taylor: The 7-footer still needs to announce a list cut or a visit schedule, but it is expected that he will be on his list and will visit Bloomington this fall.
