Lewis Hamilton says he is convinced that he can have better results and haunts his first Ferrari stage in Hungary after his comeback drive in the Belgian Grand Prix.

Ferrari brought a new rear-wheel suspension to Spa-Francorchamps, but Hamilton had two early outputs on both sprint and normal qualification, starting at the Pit Lane on Sunday. In an impressive first Stint, Hamilton pulled a number of catching up in the wet and then Timed his pit stop perfectly to rise to seventh place, and he says he has unlocked a way to get a way to get better performance of the improved car towards the end of the weekend.

“Everyone in the team worked so hard,” said Hamilton. “We clearly had these upgrades, everyone back in the factory worked so hard, and when you came and applies a performance as I had the past two days, it is difficult because that is not what the team deserves.

“It was not a case of necessarily coming in and not being in the right mind at the weekend.

“So I got a few points. We defeated Mercedes on points, which is great. Charles [Leclerc] Did it great. It is clear that the car improves because Charles was able to hold another stage. So I’m still going to work hard next week to try to get my first.

“I think this [race] Is definitely one to place behind me. I certainly have confident to go in the future. After I learned more about the car today, I will set it up, go there for next week, Wednesday in the factory. So I don’t see why we would not have any better results in the future. “

An arrangement of wet weather helped Hamilton’s early indictment, but he also explains how other components introduced in recent races – including rear brake changes – played a role in his struggles.

“Of course challenging for me to start there. But I made some changes at night. So far the construction of this week – of course with the upgrade that we have, there are actually two elements on it. One of those elements had it to test a few races.

“For me it was the first time it used and the spider we had caught myself because we had no settings.

“Also a change of engineer. So we were both in principle in a deep end. I think we did really good at night to put some of them [issues] – Adjust it and coordinate it. And the car was so much better to drive. So I enjoyed trying to continue. ‘

The change of engineer relates to someone who cooperates with both Hamilton and his existing racing engineer Riccardo Adami, with Adami still audible on the Ferrari Driver’s Team Radio during the weekend.

“It is not easy to change engineers in the middle of a season. But it is someone I have known for years who was actually with me in my previous team, but not in that position. So we get to each other and have to learn super, super fast. I think the changes we both had caught. But I think we have done a great job at night to become stronger and stronger.”
