IU Football is 5-0 and no. 8 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll on Sunday afternoon.
The first rankings of the Football Playoff College are only released at the beginning of November, but various national points of sale have updated their CFP and Bowl projections to the following week five.
Here are the Hoosiers after the 20-15 victory against Iowa in Kinnick Stadium:
ESPN.COM – Heather Dinich
Dinich De Hoosiers has number 10 In its updated CFP projections among one loss teams such as Florida State, Alabama and Georgia.
Why they could be here: the Hoosiers escaped on Saturday with a 20-15 victory in Iowa, a notoriously difficult place to play. A narrow victory is better than a loss, just ask fellow opportunities LSU and Florida State, who dropped road races this week. It was the least points that IU had scored this season, but Indiana now has back-to-back Big Ten wins and the first road victory. It also helped that Illinois defeated USC and further legitimized the 63-10-beatdown of the Hoisiers of the Illini.
ESPN.com – Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach
Bandar and Schlebaris More hands to Dinchen on the Hoosiers, place them at number 8 in their updated projections.
CBSSports.com – Brad Crawford
Indiana Checks at No. 9 in the CFP projections on CBSSports.com, under SEC programs Georgia, Alabama and Texas A&M.
9. Indiana: Curt Cignetti warned everyone who would listen, and he was right. Iowa imposed a much more difficult game on his Hoisiers compared to their previous opponent, but Indiana continued in the fourth quarter on Fernando Mendoza’s 49-Yard strike to Elia Sarratt. It was a road victory in the Big Ten with the mentality “Survive and Advance” on completely shown for the Hoisiers on a day where several other top 15 teams fell.
Sports Illustrated – Bryan Fischer
Fischer also has the Hoosiers at number 9 In his CFP projections after week five:
De Hoosiers survived the trip to Iowa City, but Credit Curt Cignetti for telling the truth when he noticed that the Hawkeyes would be a much stiffer test than what they were before last week. Suddenly that trip to Oregon can eventually become the type of game after a bye that can determine how high Indiana rises in the CFP ranking.
Sports Illustrated – Pat Forde
Fore Slots De Hoosiers at number 6 After Saturday’s victory in Iowa, the highest of the projections we have investigated today.
USA Today – Matt Hayes
The Hoosiers check in at no. 8 In the latest CFP projections from Hayes to week five:
8. Indiana: Welcome to playing a real schedule, Hoosiers. There is no room for a disappointment, especially against the most underrated assistant coach in College Football (Iowa DC standard Parker). Next: Bye week.
On3.com – Brett McMurphy
McMurphy Has De Hoosiers from the CFP And projects De Hoosiers to make the Reliaquest Bowl against Tennessee in Tampa, Florida on New Year’s Eve.
