The beginning of the school showed how HBCUs continue to show the culture.
Virginia State University showed everyone how HBCU graduates are falling. During the initial ceremonies, the school graduates broke out in the popular “boots on the ground” line dance.
The dance breaks came from a surprise moment during both ceremonies on May 17. According to HBCU GamedayThe move was fueled by University President, Dr. Makola M. Abdullah. Prior to graduates crossing the stage, President Abdullah encouraged students to look under their seats to find handheld fans and start the party.

“Our graduates are ready to run the ground,” VSU shared in the viral post. “They have all their” boots on the floor. “
People use the fans to perform the dance that is made popular by the number 803fresh. This is a different addition to the long list of line dancing that has conquered social media. In a VSU -however, the fans also showed the colors of blue, white and orange of the HBCU.
As soon as graduates heard the now famous texts of the song, “Where Them fans ate?” The crowd started to rise. The accomplished students and their families started to put their boots to work while putting the stairs to celebrate the milestone. The professors on stage also participated in the pleasure, with the break of speeches that offer a light -hearted moment for the traditional ceremony.
The dance not only has this HBCU stop, but the black culture in general fascinated. An official video clip for the hit number has already collected more than 1.8 million views on YouTube, despite the premiere of four days ago. The cultural and tap hit has also made mini-berelsels, such as the three-year-old Miss Shirley, who has become viral for her bite-sized representation of the line dance.
While “Boots on the Ground” continues to groove the black community, HBCU’s also appears to be cultural hubs.
