Dragon Attack (Sam Widger) won an early three-way battle in the first eighth of the mile and led the field of eight past the opening quarter in:27.
Whatchagonnado (Chris Page) did not want to sit behind the 67-1 long shot and cleared the lead before half time in:55.4.
Odds On Mad Hatter (Luke Hanners) was flushed from the pocket by Enrico Pallazzo (Trevor Smith) and challenged the leader at the three-quarter mark in 1:23.1.
Whatchagonnado never relinquished the lead and sprinted home in:28.1 to stop the timer in 1:51.2.
Odds On Mad Hatter finished 2 ¼ lengths back in second place with Enrico Pallazzo completing the trifecta.
The second son of Fear The Dragon is owned by the partnership Bruke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi.
WHATCHAGONNADO REPEAT
In the second division, Bars And Notes came to their feet in the final steps to take the neck victory.
Rockinpoppin (Tyler Smith) was fastest from the wings, leading the first three quarters in:27.2,:56 and 1:23.3.
First up is the gambler’s choice, Ez Spree (David Miller), who provides a live cover for Bright Bet (Chris Page).
Around the final turn, Ez Spree drifted into the four-way, allowing Bright Bet to move alongside the leader.
Brett Miller sent the eventual winner into the passing lane and crossed the line first in 1:52.1.
Bright Bet came in second and Rockinpoppin completed the top three.
Steve Carter trains the three-year-old gelding son of Racing hill for Caldwell Mamie.
