It was just a few weeks ago, during episode 255, that Milos “The Mind” Sarcev expressed his affection for the current state of the men’s physics division. Of course, Sarcev was a fixture in the Open division before moving on to a respected coach, where he worked on several Mr. Olympia events, but The Mind also trod the boards as a light heavyweight in his early years, winning a Mr Universe title in 1989. However, today’s Open division is very different from that of 25 years ago, and for many the Classic division presents a more aesthetic physique that doesn’t try to rely so much on cartoonish looks, instead favoring an old-school style. frame. So on the show, Dennis James asked guest Jose Raymond where he thought Sarcev could rank in today’s classic field.
Jose Raymond: Peak Milos Sarcev would “do very well” in the Classic Division
“Now put Milos in the Classic Physique,” James asked fellow bodybuilder turned coach and judge Jose Raymond with his hypothetical question. “His condition, his form, the way he was then. How would he do in Classic?”
The man they call “The Boston Mass” responded that he had to get Sarcev’s glutes shredded first. “That would be the most important thing,” he laughed. “But shape, fullness, size…” The host then interrupted to say he wasn’t asking what Sarcev should work on, but rather where he would compete against the likes of current champion Ramon Rocha Queiroz.
“Oh, he would do that very well,” Raymond replied. “That’s where he would belong,” he added. Sarcev was way ahead of the boys, however, as he had already posted images to his Instagram account showing off what he said was his perfect look for each division.
During the show, Sarcev shared the images he thought would make him proud in men’s physiques, classic physiques and even an open style physique. If only he hadn’t retired at age 61!
