What to visit Egypt in the summer | Cheekgirlrich
So I have shared about my Egypt adventures in recent weeks. To be honest, I was not best on my personal financial blogger with lowering costs or travel hacking this time (I usually manage the flights much better, but I found it much harder to travel for two people). The total costs for a week in Egypt were:
- Hotels – $ 189.26
- Flights – $ 805.10
- Tours – $ 847.05
- Admission costs and tips – $ 215.69
- Airport transfers – $ 60.99
- Food – $ 209.90
- Uers – $ 8
- Souvenirs – $ 53.17
- Tour -Terugot – $ 713
Total: $ 1676.16
(And if you wonder Why A refund of the tour, view this review of the 5 -day tour of special Egypt that we went here.)
But there was a kind of important hidden fee. What the hell to wear to Egypt in mid -August?

ASWAN FIT – This is probably the only one I could do/switch on the day I was wearing it. Aswan seemed much more traditional than any other stop and I would probably have worn looser clothes if I had known. But those are pants that I already had and a new cheap T-shirt from George.
A quick dive in Egyptian culture indicated that women should generally remain covered, and it is polite to ensure that your knees and shoulders are always covered by public (other than with Polish of course). I also learned that the average temperatures in Egypt in August are usually between 93-104 Fahrenheit (nice fact, one day of our tour the temperature was 118 F, and I am not sure if the weather was once under 100 while we were there, even at night).
This meant that not only my British clothing was not enough, because they are shorts and tank tops to survive any heat wave or autumn and winter clothing from mid-August to the beginning of June every year. I do not consider myself a particularly daring sideboard, but to be honest, something was wrong with almost everything I had.
I will say that my sister -in -law and I have both noticed that we saw a lot of From people walking around in shorts and tank tops, but we both also felt much better deciding to be well covered. We were also warned that it was a bit harassed if Westerner can be part of travel in Egypt and although we were harassed because people wanted us to bought things continuously, none of them ever felt harassed just because we were Western women.
So for that I call the Egypt Shopping Trip a victory.

Desert Day outfit. Both items were made of open-air stores with beautiful moisture picking technology. The pants in particular were super comfortable and I will wear regularly.
Brought things that I had before I shoped:
- My daily sneakers (although if I had white sneakers, I could reconsider this – they will probably be tinted with desert forever after you return)
- A few comfortable wedges
- My battered old Tiks
- Two pairs of loose pants that I bought two years ago for a stem in the Woolwich market.
- A black T-shirt
- A white tank top
- A hat with good coverage
- Missing a can of face
- Two bathing suits
- Sunglasses
Before I went, I panicked a bit about packing black/dark colored clothing, but afterwards it was so incredibly hot that small difference did not matter.
I ended up expenses $ 353.45 About clothing and supplies for the trip, which of course could be done cheaper, but I thought back when I had to buy various things to go to Iceland. I spent a bit more to ensure that they were of good quality and almost everything I bought has been regularly in my wardrobe since then or until it literally fell apart.

Luxor Day – this outside was composed of things I already had, except the blue scarf.
Bought $ 353.45:
- 1 pair of sandals (the most expensive purchase for the trip for $ 58.35 and probably the most important thing I could have just skipped)
- 5 pairs of pants (although I only brought 2 of these – 4 linen and 1 lightweight hiking poker)
- 2 Dresses
- 2 Kimono-like vests
- 2 Tops
- 1 skirt
- 1 tank top
- 1 button down t-shirt
- 1 package of Tan Lightweight Bicycle Shorts for under Skirts and Dresses
- 1 beige good
- 1 scarf
- 1 water bottle holder bag
- 1 Electric fan
- 1 package of 4 portable fans
- 1 package wipes
- 1 bug spray
- 10 tissues on travel format

I actually don’t have a picture of just me in this dress in Egypt, but this was my go-to evening dress after I returned from adventures and showering.
I usually think it’s fine with wearing some clothes on vacation, but I was really worried about how hot it would be and that we would sweat through our clothes. I was right. I rewrited my travel day from London to Cairo on the last day of our trip back home in England on the train.
I also put one dress aside and wore it every day after showering. So I packed one outfit almost every day and then two extra outfits to shower back at the hotel. Of those two outfits I finally wore one dress and used the second dress as a swimming pool cover on the last day.
I did most of my groceries at Amazon on Prime Day earlier in the summer. I also found a white white shirt at Lidl for £ 7 (center of Lidl, you really never know what you will find), a few pants at Lisbon airport earlier in the summer, and one outfit at New Look, which was more a splashing purchase because it comprised a skirt that my Instagram feed had been pursuing for months. I found my desert-dune-surfing-outfit-broeks in Mountain Warehouse and TOP at Trespass-Lijene had an excellent end of season sales. George also has £ 4 basic T-shirts that I apparently slept on, because they are great.
In general, the only things that I don’t think I will really wear a lot of the linen pants, which fit terribly, and I tried to return, but it changed in this incredible hassle with the company, although it was free of which they just kept trying to keep me and give them a fraction of the return prize. We went back and forth for weeks, which was just ridiculous, until I held to hold the three pairs of pants for a repayment of 50%. But they are all too big and the elastic does not work well and when I put something in the pockets, the pants fall away from me. So … great. Maybe for the wandering in the house. Nevertheless, I took a few with me to Egypt. The other two were left behind.

Pyramid Day Fit with the purchased tank top, one of the kimono-like cardigans and the red linen pants that would fall down if I put something in my pockets.
Of the two kimono-like cardigans that I have bought, I sometimes see myself wearing both wearing. One of them is aimed quite regularly and was a beach covering while he was also in Croatia earlier this summer.
I am usually not the kind of bike to wear short/purb -rub options under dresses and skirts, but I was So happy I bought a set from them to wear in Egypt. Definitely worth it.
My sister -in -law and brother also brought me a birthday present while we were on vacation (my birthday was a few weeks earlier), including a similar sun that protected the scarf as what she had bought before the trip was really nice. It corresponded to various things that I brought, so I immediately put it in the rotation with my hat and the scarf that I had bought.
Fans
I feel that fans need their own small category here, because I went down a bit of a rabbit hole to find out how I can’t faint in a pyramid.
Earlier in the summer I bought a clip-on fan that requires charging before use. I tested it during my trip to Lisbon in June and I used it in Croatia with the BFF. It was … okay. I stayed in a hostel in Lisbon that was unreasonably hot, and I have to say that lying on my bed there and positioning the fan to blow on me was really refreshing. However, I just cut the fan on my bag and expected that it would correctly and blow on me, did not really work in both places. I usually held it in my hand to take it to me. So I think if I would buy another Power fan in the future, I would get a regular, small handy because I think I sacrificed some fan force, because the highest setting was … OK, but not great.
The hands-down winner-purchase for Egypt was this foolish package of 4 handy fans that I bought on a whim. I thought manually driven things no longer have without batteries, so in a worst scenario they would work.
These are fantastic. I have given one of us there. We have always used them. Dear $ 10 I spent before the trip.

Come Ombo and Edfu Day – Lisbon pants, tank top that I already owned and my Lidl shirt (this was my favorite outfit of the week)
Water bottle holder
The second best purchase for the trip was a water bottle holder. For $ 14 I found a black that also had two small bags on the side and a little section with zipper in the front and that was what I used all week as my bag. It kept a water bottle fairly cold, I could also store my fan, some chapstick, a sunscreen and a can of face smoke, which was sometimes really refreshing. I kept my money, cards and passport in the front pocket and a tissue packed in one of the side pockets. I cut a hand disinfecting and knocked on my fan and was ready to go.
For your information: there is not always toilet paper in the public toilets. Hence the packages of tissues and the wet wipes package.
Moreover, my partner also bought one, and he was white, which quickly developed a really grim, orange-like color. Despite several washes at home, it is not faded, so maybe you want to consider a darker colored bottle holder of water.

Alexandria Day – the skirt and the shirt are a new look. I really love the skirt. The shirt I am a bit sure about how much recovery it will get. I look 100% as a theater teacher, so perhaps future conference alloy,
In general I feel good about my choices for what I have to wear. Even in Aswan nobody said anything to me, I just think I would feel better in looser clothing. Los and smooth was the way to go with comfortable hiking shoes every day.
