What to see this weekend: new shows and movies to stream on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Apple TV and more

A Ragtag tire of spies that experience a threat to British national security. A citizen journalist who is confronted with powerful local politicians and business magnates. Police officers and Rovers, a new show from the maker of Peaky Blinders And much more all hit streaming services this week and I have the full list.

It is the last weekend of September, so I hope everyone is preparing for Kuiter again. In recent days we have had a hailstorms, thunderstorms and some really beautiful destroys. Perfect weather to curl up from the inside and watch some great TV programs and films!

I made A video About some of my favorite TV shows from 2025 outside the large, obvious Ener And Severance payment. View that below:

One show not on this list – that should be – is Apple TV+’s The Savant With Jessica Chastain in the lead. Apple has postponed the show for an indefinite period of time and although it did not give any reason for this, it is clear that the streamer was concerned about recent events. The series follows a woman who infiltrates the extreme right -wing groups to prevent an attack, and with the Charlie Kirk who seems dead and all threats of censorship in the media, Apple seems to get cold feet.

“I want to say how much I appreciate my partnership with Apple. They have been incredible employees and I respect their team deep,” Chastain said in A message on her Instagram account. “That said, I wanted to contact us and let you know that we are not tailored to the decision to pause the release of the savant.”

Hopefully Apple will release the series soon.

We had a big serial final this week Alien: earth To rule out. I didn’t care about the show, but many others did. It was incredibly divided! You can read my review of the final here. The Terminall list: Dark Wolf His excellent season was also completed, and although the final was not the strongest episode, I generally really enjoyed the show.

As I do every week, I searched the internet for the best films and TV programs on Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Apple TV, Disney+ and everywhere else. I have looked at a lot of these, but some are still on my backlog and others are not yet completely out. September has been a big month for streaming content, and it is not over yet. We still have SLODAY HORSE Coming out next week, which is very exciting!

If you have tips or I missed something, get a message on me TwitterInstagramor Facebook. You can View the streaming guide of last weekend here. Let’s dive into it right away!

New shows and movies this weekend

The Lowdown (FX/Hulu)

Sterlin Harjo, the maker of the great Reservation dogs, returns with a very idiosyncratic, very funny crime thriller The Lowdown, With Ethan Hawke in one of his best roles in years. I’ve already written A fairly extensive reviewSo make sure you look at that, but I definitely recommend it. The first two episodes are available on Hulu.

Slow Horses – Season 5 (Apple TV+)

I am still working on my review of SLODAY HORSE Season 5. It’s not my favorite season of the British espionage thriller, but that doesn’t mean it’s not good. It’s very good! It is also just a bit of Goofier than the previous seasons, despite a number of pretty harrowing moments. Gary Oldman is just as great as always the windy Jackson Lamb, and the entire season of six episode is a rolling good time. The first episode is now available on Apple TV+.

House of Guinness (Netflix)

Steven Knight, the maker of Peaky Blinders, Returns with a new show about the Guinness empire. It sounds a bit like Follow -up, But takes place in Ireland in 1868. The story follows the four children of Benjamin Guinness while they wage war against the succession of the Guinness -Rijk.

All of you (Apple TV+)

Ted Lasos Brett Goldstein Co-written and plays the leading role in this new romance film about a man named Simon who falls in love with his best friend, Laura (Imogen Poots). There is a sci-fi element in the film, with a “matching” system that combines soul mates in this somewhat dystopian version of our world. It looks interesting and I enjoyed everything with Goldstein.

One fight after the other (in theaters)

The newest crime drama by Paul Thomas Anderson-star Leonardo DiCaprio as washed-off revolutionary, Bob Ferguson, whose paranoia turns out to be the same when an old arch enemy pops up and things go very bad for him and his daughter, Willa (Chase Infiniti). It gets praising reviews, with a score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, but I don’t have time to watch it until next week. The duration of 2 hours and 42 minutes is a bit daunting, but I am excited to see it in theaters as quickly as possible.

What streams weekly

So many shows have come to an end lately, including Dark wolf And Alien: earth, But many are still broadcast. This is what I am looking at these days (although some are on my backlog).

Task (HBO)

We are three episodes in Task At HBO Max with the fourth broadcast this Sunday, and so far I enjoy hell thanks to the great writing, production and versions. It is a new mini series from the maker of Mare van Eastown, Which was fantastic. These stars Mark Ruffalo as an FBI agent who is responsible for investigating a series of house invasions. Tom Pelphrey shines as one of the home invaters who hits the storage houses of a motorcycle gang. You can read my review here.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – Season 3 (AMC+)

I am behind my reviews of Daryl Dixon on AMC, but so far Reminds me a lot about it The three Amigos With his Goofy Spain setting and costumes that look more like the 19th -century Mexico than whatever. The last episode was in no way terrible, and hopefully the second half of the season is decent.

Gen V – Season 2 (Prime Video)

I am still behind GEN V And I still feel burned out The boys, But if you are looking for Raunchy parody parody, I believe we are four episodes in the new season.

The Terminall list: Dark Wolf (Prime Video)

I have an interview with Tom Hopperthe “dark horse” of Dark wolf. Hopper is surprisingly great in this show. Every episode has been solid and the final was a bit weaker than the rest of the season, but I am still sad to see it ending. Read my review here.

Peacemaker – Season 2 (HBO Max)

The latest episode of Peacemaker Confirm a lot of our theories about the alternative dimension John Cena’s character is located. It is Nazi -America and things look pretty bad for our heroes. With a surprising cameo and some nice turns, this was easy to do the best episode of the season and perhaps the entire show. I can’t wait to see what is coming next, although these episodes are far too short!

Alien: Earth (Hulu)

I wasn’t a fan of Alien: earth That really shot me out because I was really enthusiastic about it and was a fan of Hawley’s earlier works. The final was incredibly unsatisfactory. What a shame.

Only killing in the building – season 5 (Hulu)

Although I still don’t like the new season Only kill in the building, It is still a nice cozy mystery with a sweet cast. And it grows on me every week. I admit, I looked forward to a season with a Mafia theme and it seems that this is more about the dirty acts of the Super-Rich, but as long as the mystery pays and the various loose threads from the first four seasons are tied, I will be happy.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood (Starz)

I probably won’t go back to Blood of my blood Unless readers convince me differently. Is it worth it, dearth readers? I was quite impressed by the first few episodes despite the great landscape and the setting.

I wrote my review of the two -part series PremiĆØre that you can read here.

Unfart – Season 6 (PBS/Masterpiece)

I loved the first four seasons of these UK Mystery Series in cold cases, but season 5 left me cold and I have heard really mixed things about season 6. I will probably go back if I have had a break. Be sure to check out the first seasons if you enjoy fascinating mysteries!
