I recently received a request to help someone who wants “senior living” in the East Metro. I had many questions. What is senior life?

There are certainly many options. I am a senior and I live in a house in which I raised my children.

For many people, Senior Wonen is 55+ homes to own or rent. Assisted Living, which is usually a rent with services, is considered a senior living. Some communities offer a continuum of care with independent residential apartments, services, memory care and a nursing home.

I have never heard of someone who chooses a competent nursing facility, unless there is no other choice.

There are also senior cooperatives that are not the same as renting or apartments. The owner owns shares in a co-op-community (cooperative residential construction). Those shares give the owner the right to occupy an apartment. When it is time to leave the cooperative, the shares buy back.

People who are looking for a supported residential facility or 55+ rental homes generally do not need the help. Broker. Brokers generally do not work with nursing homes or care institutions, at least not in the state of Minnesota.

The senior housing experts are the people who are paid by the owners of senior housing facilities. They are paid to recommend housing and to help with it.

Seniors may need a broker to help them sell their house and to tackle the move and related issues.

In Minnesota, seniors who are planning to move to assisted living or a care institution can Senior coupling line ((800) 333-2433) for help. The service is free due to the state of Minnesota.

Choose your home wisely.
