What is new in competitions for 2025/26 – Table Tennis England

August 1 marks the first day of the 2025/26 season and brings important changes to the competitions, regulations and rankings.

This is what you need to know so that you can enjoy this season and reach tennis in the table!

Competitions

The competition review has been completed and the implementation of the latest developments will take place this season, although individual events will remain finenessed and developed. An overview of the process and changes can be seen here.

The last elements include:

  • The new U11 & U13 Pathway Development Cup takes place on the weekend of 30-31 May 2026, organized by Highfield TTC. More information can be seen here and will be released in due course
  • Utguined regulations for the open tournaments (1*/ 2*/ 4*) have been published to make these events easier and more cost -effective to walk for hosts and to participate by participants. All updated regulations for the new season can be seen here.

The regulations are supported by an extensive and improved ‘tournaments explained’ supporting document, which has been developed as a one-stop source for both new and existing tournament organizers. This can be seen here.

The first senior 4* of the new season will take place in Sussex – submissions will close on Tuesday 12 August, so you will receive a submission now to book your place!

This season sees exciting new changes in the Senior British Clubs League, Premier Division classification. We are pleased to announce the dates for the new season with the following hosts – competitions will soon be published on TT competitions.

  • Weekend 1: 4-5 October 2025-North Ayrshire TTC
  • Weekend 2: 13-14 December 2025-Batts TTC
  • Weekend 3: February 14, 2026 – Fusion TTC
  • Weekend 4: 11-12 April 2026-Oormesby TTC

The National Series will discuss its second year with a few improvements after consultation. Invitations will soon be issued to invited players – see here general info for this season here.

A new Girls’ Cadet BCL -Pilot series takes place from May to July 2026, in addition to the existing mixed sex format. Details are available closer to Christmas here.

List

The guidelines have been re -published for the new season with annual household updates. This includes the following developments:

  • New U23/ O50/ O60 and O70-Age-Loantgroep filters in the respective rankings/ rating lists. These will be launched on Wednesday, August 6, can be seen in the Live listsand are configurable and downloadable in Member profiles.

The Ranking Run data from 2025/26 and the 2025/26 season opening rankings are released after the ranking of August on Wednesday 6 August, and will include the transition from final-year cadets to juniors and the last year juniors to seniors.
