West Ham United has submitted, according to an opening offer, to sign high -rated Brazilian goalkeeper John Victor from Botafogo, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 29-year-old is a reliable presence between the posts for the Estrela Solitária since he had moved from Santos in 2024. He has made 84 performances for the Brazilian outfit and held 36 clean sheets on the way, so it is no surprise that he has been constantly on the radar of various European clubs, including West Ham.

He had a short period in Europe with Real Valladolid in 2023 and participated in European teams, in particular the 1-0 upset against the European Champions Paris Saint-Germain, so his adjustment process in Europe is expected to be seamless.

According to RomanoWest Ham has now formalized their interest after submitting an opening bid in Botafogo to sign the 6ft 4 in Shot stopper this summer.

The offer is supposed to be worth £ 6 million according to the journalist, but it is unclear whether it has been accepted or rejected by the Brazilian club.

The hammers will hope that their offer will be accepted because several other European clubs are turning Brazilian keeper.

According to RomanoTurkish champions Galatasaray and Everton are also enthusiastic about the signature of Victor, while Manchester United has monitored his performances in recent months.

Shotstopper

After seven seasons and 216 performances, experienced shot stopper Lukasz Fabianski confirmed his exit from West Ham after the expiry of his contract.

After he has already strengthened the team with the arrivals from El Hadji Malick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters, West Ham now wants to strengthen their goalkeeper department before the new Premier League campaign starts.

A name on their radar is Victor, who supplied a series of ‘phenomenal’ Performances for Botafogo at the Club World Cup. He is seen as a real competition to challenge Alphonse Areola for the number one sweater.

Under new boss Graham Potter – whose tactical philosophy revolves around high urgent, liquid possession and positional exchange – Victor’s attributes can be an ideal match.

The English manager usually sets his team in a 4-2-3-1 or 3-4-3 formation, and demands that his keepers are comfortable on the ball and be able to initiate attacks of deep.

Victor fits on the Potter system, and although it is not reported if the supply of £ 6 million of the hammers is accepted, every fee among £ 10 million would be an absolute bargain for a goalkeeper of his qualities.
