West Ham pushed to sign Aston Villa star John McGinn

Former midfielder Ray Parlor has urged West Ham United to sign Aston Villa star John McGinn.

Since moving to Villa Park from Scottish side Hibernian in 2018, the 31-year-old has established himself as an undisputed starter. In recent years he was even captain of the club.

Since Unai Emery’s arrival as new manager, the Scotland international has taken his game to another level. After helping his side qualify for the Champions League a few seasons ago, he helped them secure Europa League football last season.

This season he continued to produce impressive performances, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 26 appearances in all competitions.

McGinn has guided Aston Villa to the Premier League title challenge this season and is third in the table with 42 points from 20 games. They have collected the same number of points as second-placed Manchester City, but the Citizens have a significantly better goal difference.

McGinn guided Aston Villa to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League last weekend by scoring a brace.

McGinn has not only shown his qualities in the Premier League; he even helped Scotland qualify for next summer’s World Cup. This will be The Tartan Army’s first appearance in this competition since 1998.

McGinn is a proven player in the Premier League and would be a great addition to West Ham in their quest to survive this season should they ultimately manage to secure his service this month.
