Nuno Espirito Santo has made signing a centre-forward a priority next month as the Hammers look to climb out of the Premier League relegation places. Due to the defeat at Manchester City on Saturday, the East Londoners remained six games without a win.
Niclas Fullkrug is also expected to move in January as the German looks for regular football to keep his World Cup dream alive. AC Milan are in talks over a loan deal to sign Fullkrug.
According to The AthleticsWest Ham have identified Strand Larsen as their top target. The Norway international scored 14 league goals for Wolves last season but has been part of a struggling team this term.
Wolves are winless in the Premier League and are already 16 points from the margin of safety, having played one game less than 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.
Wolves will not want to lose last season’s top scorer, but the increasing inevitability of relegation means a big bid could be considered in January.
Strand Larsen was the subject of interest from Newcastle United this summer, with multiple bids rejected from the Magpies, the highest in the region of £55 million. After being rebuffed in their attempts to sign the striker, Eddie Howe’s side signed Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart.
A sale in January could give Rob Edwards money to rebuild at Molineux, while Strand Larsen’s valuation would likely fall if he is relegated. West Ham, meanwhile, are desperate for their own survival hopes, which could leave Wolves with too high an offer.
