Wells Fargo Center of 76ers renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena

The home arena of the Philadelphia 76ers, Wells Fargo Center, officially switched to the XFINity Mobile Arena on Tuesday, according to one press release from Comcast.

76ers’ New Naming Right Agreement Run up to and including 2031

Comcast unveiled new signage on the outside of the Arena on Tuesday morning. The new naming right agreement with Comcast Spectacor will last until 2031.

“Philadelphia is the home of the most passionate fans in the country, and that competitive spirit is a perfect addition to the Xfinity Mobile brand,” said Steve Croney, Chief Operating Officer, Connectivity & Platforms, Comcast.

The Arena is the home of the Sixers, the Philadelphia flyers of the NHL and the Filadelphia wings of the NLL. This is the fifth name of the building since the opening in 1996 as the Corestates Center.

Other previous names are First Union Center and Wachovia Center.

“This Arena is an anchor in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex and wider region,” said Hilferty, chairman and CEO of Comcast Spectacor.

“While we complete our historical relationship with Wells Fargo, we wanted to ensure that our new partner corresponded our enthusiasm to providing world-class service to our fans and guests. We are committed to invest in our location to ensure that we are paramount in technology, innovation and advanced fan experiences.”

Xfinity Mobile Arena to have upgraded Wi-Fi options

Sixers players Jared McCain and VJ Edgecombe were on site for the unveiling alongside Flyers players Travis Sanheim and Sean Couturier.

Per Gabriela Carroll by The Inquirer of PhiladelphiaThe Arena promises to have upgraded a upgraded WiFi options, with 10 times higher speeds and WiFi coverage in the parking lot of the Arena for Tailgaters.

“In addition to our partners at Comcast and Comcast Spectacor, we have a shared vision of strengthening the home shipping benefit in Zuid -Philadelphia, and this announcement is another step in an exciting new chapter,” said Tad Brown, CEO of the 76ers and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment).

“Xfinity Mobile Arena offers fans improved connectivity and high-speed options to maximize their experience in Aigena. By concentrating on new and emerging technology, Xfinity Mobile Arena fans can create incredible memories at games, concerts and live events in the future.”

For the first time, Comcast launched Xfinity Mobile to consumers throughout the country from the Philadelphia birthplace in 2017. The Xfinity Mobile Partnership officially started on Monday.

The Sixers will take the court in Xfinity Mobile Arena for the first time on 10 October for a preset season match. Their regular season opener is planned for October 25, when they organize the Charlotte Hornets.
