Welcome to the new Casual Hoya: a fresh look, fewer ads and a new feature

Things will look a bit different today.

A few weeks ago we told you that something new came to Casual Hoya and today it is here. Things are cleaner, faster And easier to use. There are the same writers, reporting, comments and community on which you started trusting, now with less junk and clumsiness.

Let’s dive into it. If you can blow over the page on your phone or computer, it is smoother. You will notice that the most spoken stories have a larger font with the number of reactions. You also see a section called Active Conversations to point out to the busiest conversations at the moment.

But there are two changes, we are the most enthusiastic to tell you:

Fewer ads for logged in users

Our loyal readers and commentators are the heartbeat of our communities, and with this new design we are pleased to offer them fewer advertisements when they are logged in. Specifically:

A new function of the community, for the community: the feed

Today we are launching a brand new space for you to come together. The feed is a current stream of messages and updates from you, the community, mixed with links and updates from the team and our employees. Think of it as the group text of our community where you can easily grab your phone and share a link to a story, place a question or write your own message on the news of the day.

You can find it in two places:

Today’s launch is a major problem for our community, and it is also a kick -off of broader efforts to build around the community we have here. Soon you will receive warnings when someone answers your comment or your message to the feed, followed by more. We want to place the community in the driver’s seat, so let us know what you want in the comments below or in the feed.

If you want to dig in more of this updated experience, go to This message on sbnation.com From the product of SB Nation’s product Ed Clinton, where he expands about the changes in our advertisements and design. Ed will respond in the responses to questions. If you have questions about how you can log in to our new system, View this article from last week.
