The Utah Jazz repeated Georges Niang, and it was immediately confirmed that the plan is to keep him. Niang may not be a star, but a reconstruction team like Utah could certainly use his voice. Although the team could also use more young talent, it should not necessarily be at the expense of Niang, but these proposed trade violations exactly that.

Carelli did not really explain why the jazz would do this, but explained why they would trade their tension assets.
“The jazz has (8) first round picks in the next four concepts. They have assets to act, and so this trade can work. The more poker chips you have, the more gambles you can make,” wrote Carelli.
Uh … for sure? Jazz is able to use their draft activa, but its use on Kuminga is not exactly a accurate investment. The talent cannot be denied, and he may have been on their radar during those commercial conversations between the Warriors and Jazz about Lauri Markkanen, but whether that translates into winning something is still to be seen.
That is why he and Golden State have been in a stalemate. It is not bizarre to believe that the jazz could be interested in Kuminga, but if they are, it would be one question on such a trade idea.
Why would the jazz give up something for someone who can add them along the line?
Reading the tea magazines in the Kuminga situation, whether he returns to the Warriors or not, it doesn’t sound like he will be in the team for much longer. He can accept the qualifying offer or he can take a short extension. If that is how things end, Utah can drop out that situation.
But giving up assets for someone who is likely to be available just seems that they do their best unnecessary to pay who probably doesn’t need much to take him to the team. In addition, with the current timeline of jazz, they are not desperate to add someone like Kuminga, let alone to give up two picks in the first round for him.
The jazz would not trade that way, but it has the right idea in mind. Utah is in position to do that, and they will probably start this in 2026. Doing it now and doing it to get Kuminga just doesn’t sound like it would fit with their current plans.
