My world does not really allow it to be car -free. I can have car light days or car -free days when I work at home.

I rode a little more on my e-bike around Charlottesville. Try to plan things to minimize driving and could have one car-free day.

  • Do a day without a car. Crozet bus is 15 minutes late due to Charlottesville/Ivy RD traffic. And no bicycle rack on the bus. But the bus is 75% full. #Weekwood Driving
  • Two stops later, and we are 90% full. One woman sat down next to another woman and said, “Hello Busmate!” 15 people + driver. I would bet that each of us would have been in our respective cars.
  • About 25 minutes late to the bus stop in the city center. It is a good thing that my day has flexibility. I was also the only one left on the bus. All others got off at the stops of the University of Virginia.
  • Take a VEO for the last stage of my trip to the office. Briefly $ 3.32 to drive less than a mile. If I hadn’t been too late, I would have walked.

And the return to crozet

  • On the way home. Run from office to bus stop. About a mile; It’s a beautiful day. Would be nice to have wider sidewalks. Easy detour to get a baguette ABC.
  • Only 7 people in the early bus to Crozet. Again, I was the only one in the stop in the city center. UvA people were the other passengers.
  • And at home. Short small bike ride from the bus stop to the house. Everything in about an hour that would have cost me about 35 minutes in my car, not every day of my life, but certainly a fantastic option

Did getting and from my office lasting a little longer? Yes.

Could I have shown a house if a customer asked? Yes, as long as it was in the city or the immediate urban ring, I would have driven my e-bike, and was aware of the return bus.

Was it a little less stressful because I didn’t drive, and my meetings had no difficult start/stop times? Also yes.

Admittedly, this morning I was driving home for a few minutes and get my car because the bus was about 15 minutes late. I remained partly because another passenger called the bus office and confirmed that the bus was in crozet and was close by both the confirmation that the bus was there, and that a neighbor communicated that message to the group of 5 or 6, was a reason to stay.

The observation of the Lasters of the afternoon greets the driver by name and smile, and then talking to their fellow -stem guests was a nice thing to observe. A little community about our small public transport.

Can I do this every day? No.

As a broker in Charlottesville/Albemarle requires a car, flexibility and spontaneity. And I will still make an effort to do it again.

Was it a successful day? Absolute.

For those who live in Crozet, The Crozet Connect Is an excellent option if you have a fixed schedule and/or flexibility.
