Week 2 Rotation Notes: Fill-in exercises for injuries

2 minutes, 22 seconds Read

Yes, the NBA is in full swing and they are keeping the doctors busy, as always. Here’s a look at the top injuries and what you can do to fill the gaps.

Anthony Edwards: Missed two weeks due to a hamstring strain. It shouldn’t be a long term problem. Last night Mike Conley got the start and Terrance Shannon, Jr. got 25 minutes. Shannon is preferred, but don’t worry if you miss him.

The Move: Buy Shannon if you have room, but don’t worry if you miss something

Coby White: No need to rush him back as the surprising Bulls are 3-0. Tre Jones seems like an obvious selling height, but he’s a good player in real life. I don’t see the minutes dropping below 25-28 in the future. Ayo Dosunmu also gets a lot of minutes. In other words, all the guys producing now will continue to do so even if White comes back.

The move: Save all the bulls you have. Coby White isn’t stopping the other guards from producing.

Luka Doncic: He’s been gone for a while, but that won’t be for long. Jarred Vanderbilt played 28, Jake LaRavia 29 and Dalton Knecht 24. They miss Doncic, and LeBron James, for that matter, dearly. Again, don’t worry and run to the wire for these guys.

The Move: Vanderbilt is fine if you need some defensive stats. Otherwise, just don’t watch the Lakers, they’re awful.

Hey. Not much advice? Let’s take a look at the Bucks point guard. Ryan Rollins wants to take the job and run with it. 14 points and 8 assists on Sunday; Kevin Porter, Jr. is not a great real player. If the Bulls win and Rollins is successful, he keeps the job. Cole Anthony is also better than Porter in my opinion, but admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of Porter’s history.

The Move: Grab Rollins and see where it goes.

Zion Williamson: He has a bone contusion in his foot. Another lower body injury. You have to keep him, but what opportunities presented themselves? Rookie Derik Queen will likely benefit from all the injuries here. He played 24 in a blowout loss to Boston on Monday, and should see minutes in the mid-20s for a while. Herb Jones and Trey Murphy III will get all the minutes they can handle, so see if they make sense for your team build.

The Move: Stash Queen if you have the space

Derek Lively: Both centers, Lively and Daniel Gafford, are now missing time with various ailments. They should not be long term. Anthony Davis fills in at center and PJ Washington is a good stream as he plays in the mid-30s. I’m also a fan of Max Christie’s game if he can continue in the starting lineup.

Those are some of the things I saw, thanks for reading!
