We are going to visit a new country! It happens relatively rarely anyway, so it feels exciting! We’ve been to all the countries bordering Slovakia (Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Ukraine), but not this particular country…so now’s the time!
To visit new countries
During our last trip, in Tunisia, we were joined by the Finnish Anna-Katri (@adalminasadventures on Instagram) who attended at the countries of the world. Impressive to say the least! We have certainly never chased the figures ourselves, but it is still quite an achievement to have visited all the countries. Wow we say!
As far as I’m concerned, there have been quite a few return visits to countries recently and I don’t really know the last time we visited a new country (Georgia?), but now it’s happening: we’re going to Bratislava in Slovakia!
A trip to Bratislava
We will visit Bratislava on a press trip organized by the Bratislava Tourist Board. In addition to us, a small group of Danish and Norwegian travel writers will be joining us on the trip – no one we have known before, but someone we have contacted through social media.
A journey with a programme
Press trips usually have a structured program. There are of course pros and cons to this, but when you are on a press trip, we think it is good to have structure and plans. If you travel alone it’s a different matter, then you can take it as it comes…
But now we are going to visit the capital Bratislava and the program includes things like a city tour, art museum, Jewish memorial, opera and wine tasting. It will be exciting!

We’ve learned over time that it’s more or less hopeless to try to blog while on a press trip (the schedule is usually So intensive) but on the other hand we try to give an update on Instagram during the trip!
